This cat is so smart I can't keep up with him. He tells time and at two thirty AM he's hungry. How much can you stand having fourteen pounds of cat standing on your body yelling at you. He's learned I don't want him to wake Hubby so I'll get up, once I'm up it's coffee for me and once he has eaten it's cat pets for him. I ssure hope he doesn't learn about daylight savings time in the Spring. On top of all this he then goes back for a CAT nap.

Our Sadie hound pushes at me with her cold wet nose, the trouble is she trys to make it earlier each day. I make her lay down until the correct time. But if that time goes by she barks until I respond. A life ruled by animals.

I wonder why no one has ever taught Jack that it isn't healthy to eat before going back to sleep. Seriously though, this is not the first time that I've heard of a cat that has to wake up the humans during the middle of the night so that they can be fed. What I think is great is that you are willing to get up and make sure that he has something to eat. Doesn't it remind you just a little bit of being the parent of a baby again?

Ha ha ha .. now that's really "catty" of him. But kids are worse honestly. They don't let you sleep ALL night. Give him my love.

My cat tried that waking-me-up thing once or twice and I just ignored her. Now she just places herself at the foot of the bed on the floor so she knows when I do get up. Maybe Jack would learn the same way?

haha smsart cat you have I don't have cat at home, but we have 3 dogs. All they know that when we all finish our meal it will for sure their time to have theirs. Thank God they never fighting over food cos they have recognize their own bowl. Funny this is when we are having bananas or oher fruits, they will ask for some too they want to eat whatever we eat.

They may be a little slow on the uptake but I think they are just being awkward, but cats can be trained up to a point. They are very quick to make the most of any weakness on our part so I am afraid you have fallen victim to Jack. I would have a spray bottle by my bed and give him a short squirt of that at 2.30 a.m. He will soon get the message. If he is genuinely hungry at night (and I've noticed that my cats clear their plates at night even though they have eaten during the day) then why not leave a few biscuits out for him, well away from your bed so you do not hear the crunching.

They sure are crafty like that, our cat has this awful loud vocal meow that she has developed in her dotage, she will meow any time of day now, I guess in her old age her timing isn't as good as it used to be, sometimes at 1am she will meow loudly and when she thinks she's being ignored she will meow loudly too, but she still knows the time when food is served, I mean us mere humans are only here on Earth to serve them! After she has woken everyone up, then and only then does she decide it's time to sleep!

Any cat that wakes me up becomes cata non grata in the bedroom or even on the upstairs level. It is usually Princess and she wants to go outside. Hubby would not hear her if she sat on him and yowled. We give the blond guys wet food twice a day, but there is dry food out and water out at all times. He should sit on you and bring you a people nap.

One of my two cats wakes me up in the morning. Since I live alone there isn't anyone else. He's a very big cat and weighs a lot all he has to do is sit on me to wake me up. It's not always the same time in the morning it's just whenever he's ready I guess.

My cats don't normally wake me up. Pong, for example, wanted his breakfast, and every time I rolled over he came and wanted me to get up and feed him, but if I didn't stir, he laid back down and waited.

I'd lock out of the room any cat who awakened me at 2:30am. I love cats, but I need my sleep.
