I'm really scared to our neighbor. It was the child who had just bitten yesterday. I think she's only 8-10 yrs old. I've seen the incident. It was midnight. I cannot blame the child. :( Her mom is my mom's friend.I just couldn't tell mom of what happen to the girl who have just been bitten by our dog. I'm worried of my mom because for sure, she's the one will spend money for its anti-rabies over it. It's too much expensive, considering we have no any extra money for that. I'm thinking if I am going tell to mom or not for what I saw last night. Please help. What should I do? Maybe I should tell for the safety of the child?

If it is your dog then it is your responsibility to make sure the dog does not hurt or attack other people or animals. I know dogs do get out sometimes but if the dog gets out and causes harm its your responsibility to fix the harm. Does your dog not already have its shots? why would you think that your dog has rabies? In canada if your dog bites a person it can be put down. Make sure you keep your dog tied up from now on.

Thank you guys for all your appreciation. Yes, I've told mom already this morning of what happened last night, because of my conscience to the young girl.Fortunately, there have free anti-rabies vaccinations here in our barangay, so my mom didn't spend anything but she only managed the child. I've seen that, she has mark on her left hand bitten by our dog. Prior to the incidence, we have bail our dogs in their respective jails in order not to bite anyone again. It gives problem to my mom. Our dog has rabies and it was a long time ago since it had given them vaccines. Our dog will be vaccinated after New Year's Eve as my mom's said. And again, thank you. God bless you all!

You have to be careful and watch the dogs comportment for the next weeks until he will receive the vaccine. I guess you simply expressed yourself badly when you said that your dog has rabies. If you suspect rabies on him you must be careful as this disease has no cure. If he bites you or your mom you have to get vaccinated right away. I hope it was only a bad reaction and that your dog is not actually sick. The best thing you can do is get him vaccinated.

Yes you need to tell your mother as you need to help the kid as well. I am sure that your dog is just protecting your house that is why she bite the kid. Anyway, she is a family friend, I am sure they will understand. And it is already midnight, why is the kid roaming around in this hour? I guess it is partly their fault.

One why was the child roaming around at midnight, she deserves to be bitten then. Was she on your property?.Here your dogs must have their shots including rabies shots if not that is a fine in themselves. Here the child's parents can file a report, and 3 reports the dog must be put down, as being dangerous.

The only thing I can share here is to bring the child for antirabies vaccinations. We need to address the need of the child. We cannot bring back the time, accidents happen. In some state, dogs should be collared and never let them unleash the collar in public.

Glad to know that everything went well at last. You mustn't be confused or afraid on the things that you should do..

hi, Its sad to know what has happened. Well I would suggest you not to get scared first. Though she is a kid, doesn't mean she is not prone to mistake. And after all the dog is also an animal.Probably she might have done something by mistake which has put her into this situation. if you could tell us exactly what has happened ,may be we can understand the situation and respond accordingly. And sooner or later you have to tell your mom about it,it's better to tell her in the first place, So she won't get angry on you later.. Did the bite leave a mark? What did you do after that? You should have washed it with soap and water so the chances of rabies will be minimized. If there is no wound, then it's okay, you don't have to worry about it. I think the kid can also talk and will tell the mother eventually.

You have to tell your mother. She will find out anyway and then it will be worse. Whatever happens will happen but your mother needs to know right away. How badly was the girl hurt by your dog?
