this guy has no manners

I was at the gym this morning and I did the usual routines until I got to one machine which was used by this young man. Since he was still using the machine, I went to another one and waited for him to be done with his reps. Then he left the machine and moved to another machine. I then took over, lowered the weight of the plates and just when I was about to start pulling the plates, he came back and said, "Ma'am, just a second, one more round and I'll be done." What? But he left the machine already and was at another machine when I took over. Now that I am going to use it, he comes running back to use it again? That's bad manners. I did not mind him and left the machine without saying anything, nothing. I thought he did not deserve any attention or any word from me. He is so low for having no manners.
When I see him now at the gym, I have already a very bad impression of this guy who thinks the world should kneel when he is around.

Hi!
Some people start taking us for granted and make this kind of unpleasing demands. They think that they could ask anything to anyone, without bothering about the convenience or otherwise of the other person. You could have said 'NO' to him, when he came again for second round if you have done this you were well within your rights to say 'No'.

Why that's pretty bold to ask you to stop your work out so he could finish his. I would of walked off too. But the smart mouth in my head would of told him I had to wait my turn you can wait to use the machine again.

I am that way as well, I always have something smart to say after the fact. But in a way it's better that one holds their tongue to avoid trouble.

You are better than I because I would not have got up from the machine and would have stated very clearly that he can now wait his turn as you did for him. Bad manners for sure but that will not change as people like that tend to feel entitled all their lives. Ugh, another reason I will not go to a gym.

And you allowed him to do that? Perhaps you should have told him what you want to say. Sometimes people just need to be told that what they are doing is wrong.
Have nice day!

Too bad that you have to meet such unfriendly person. I haven’t meet such a person when I was at a gym though. I think he’s really unrespectful. He stopped you using a machine which you still on there. It’s so unrespectful since if he has a manner, he can just wait for you like everyone else with common sense. He’s either lack of understanding or selfish man. Yes, you are right to ignore him, because he is lacking of common sense and deserved to be ignored. Although maybe if you said no, then maybe you can slap some common sense to him, but maybe if I’m in your situation I’ll just silent and walk away as well.

hello there,
it really takes the temper to the next level when something happens like this. At times guys go crazy when they see a lady in the gym, trying to show off or may be trying to have a conversation.May be that was his intention to have a conversation with you.
did you thought of that..?

What kind of gym is that?
That is annoying as well, he should have known that the gym is for everyone to use and sometimes during rush hour there are people who are even lining up of just one machine. I understand that he is doing different kinds of reps but to be territorial on that area is different already which is crossing the line. He should not have been telling you that he is still using it but then he must be waiting for you to finish your routine before his turn. Not the way he wants you to get out of that machine in order for him to finish it.

Good thing you just left the machine and did not say anything. This guy is rude and it is better not to waste your with these kind of guys. If you are using the machine already, I think he has no right to claim it again even if he was previously using it. Have a nice day!

If I were in your position that time, he can hear a very explosive word of power. Lol. I can just say it to him that he is not the only client in that gym and the machine doesn't have patent transcribed with his name on it. You just ignore him and it is not worth to find time knowing him.

If he had a round left then he should not have gone to next machine. And even then if he wants to complete one more round at that machine then he should have waited for you to complete your round.

There are certain 'unwritten' protocols at a gym that gym users follow to respect other gym members, clearly he has no understanding of how to respect other gym members and I find his behaviour selfish. Although I've know guys to use a piece of equipment, leave their towel on the seat and walk around, I have also seen other guys sitting on the equipment busy with their blackberries or chatting to someone for ages! Some treat the gym as if it's theirs. How would he like it if you did it to him? He'd soon start complaining then I am sure. Sadly you will get bozos like these, hopefully he's in the minority.

The man had left the machine and he had no right to come back to it because you were on it by then. He had such bad manners. He should have walked away and used another machine in the gym.
When I go to the gym if someone is on the machine I wish to go on I wait nearby using another machine. The person cleans the machine and walks away. Then after I clean the machine I was on it would be my time to use the machine.
In early January I know the gym is going to be ever so busy. This is due to all those people with lose weight New Year resolutions. I hope you won't see that impolite man at the gym when you go there again. Good luck.

I think you should have just told him that the gym wasn't his. Or was not owned by his fore fathers to show that attitude. I am too home person to go gym so i got my gym machines at home, they are not big and expensive but they are worth helping but i am not doing them yet.

Oh yeah I used to go to they gym but fortunately I didn't meet with such unfriendly people. Some thinks they can take 2 or more machines in a crowded room! In a normal situation you should synchronise to each other and share everything.
