New year celebration with lots of firecrackers outside is very dangerous. Many reports in today's news contain information on how to prevent from accidents brought by ingestion or inhaling smokes from firecrackers. I prefer to be safe here inside our house. Listen to music and dance, dance, dance.. Happy new year! welcome 2013!

I would choose to be safe that having wrong moves. I may protect myself and the others. It is not avoiding it, but preventing the possible ugly circumstances.

I am also rather anxious about firework displays, I keep thinking that what goes up has to come down! November 5 is the big fireworks day in England and there are always accidents, mostly by young people messing about with them. It is important to have adults in charge and the area a little distance from where the people are standing. I hope your feet have recovered from all that dancing. I watched the TV until midnight, there were not many fireworks around this area last night. Mostly just bangs...which scared the animals.

That's right. It always happens every year. People don't seem to learn from the past. They still blow their fireworks like crazy.

Happy new year to you also, it will be hard to stay inside and listen to musice since there is a lot of noise outside already since very early this morning. We are surprised we see about 8-9 year old children outside lightening them (they hang them in the trees as well). I hope this time nobody will damage my car (again) with it. All cars over here are mostly parked outside on the street. So this means we have to stay awake till the worst is over. Personally I don't care anymore about people who lose a finger or hand or eye if they are behaving the way I see them already do since weeks (which is forbidden). Also I do find it a big waste of good money. Wonder how much bad ghosts you can scare away if you start end the old year and start the new year with a hand less.

Yes, you are truly right! I just hope there aren't any more casualties before we realize and learn that playing with explosives such as fireworks, is no joke!
