I feel much better after taking a short nap. Allergies triggers again. I take a tablespoon of antihistamine syrup after a minute I feel sleepy and drowsy. While lying on my bed I suddenly feel my eyes are very tired.
My aunt called me to take our lunch but I don't even heard it because Im in a deep sleep. For the second time, she called me up. Do you feel drowsy when you take some medications Or feeling better after a nap?

Yes, my anti-depressant does tend to make me drowsy. And if I have to take medication for colds or such I would rather take the drowsy option because I know that sleep is healing for me. Sleep is alusive to me at times and so the drowsy option is a good thing. Sleep is all important.

No, never experience like you. I always take some medicines everyday due to dust allergy. I am busy with my offline business so no time to feel drowsy.
I make it sure also that the medicines I take is belong to none drowsy.

My friend told me that some Chinese herbal medicine can cure dust allergy for good. I don't know whether or not it's a case by case thing. If there is any Chinese herbal specialist near you, you can ask about it to make sure.

The only liquid cold medicine I have here is Nyquil so I can't take it during the day as it does make me drowsy and I never know when I may have to drive somewhere.
A week ago I had what I thought was the beginnings of a cold or flu with a raw red throat. I took extra vitamins (C, B & D) for a few days and the Nyquil at night and symptoms were gone after about four days.
I don't ordinarily have allergies.

Most Antihistamines have warning about sleepyness being a side effect. Before taking any medication one should look at the side effect warnings. If you take it without being aware you culd put yourself in danger.
I know some people who nap and then just feel terrible after that but I can even just take a short nap and feel much better. Blessings

Thank you for the comment. Yes, that is true. We need to be reminded in anything that we take, we need to read the effects for us to be safe.

I feel better after a short nap when I am not feeling good, or if I am too sleepy after some work.
I am not having any medication, but I am taking care of my health.
So, if I am too sleepy- I give myself some time to take a nap.
A thirty minutes is enough to energize.

Same here jaiho2009. When the weather changes my body feels kind of feverish, I will then take a short nap about fifteen minutes or so. That usually works well for me :)

I have the same problem in that I have allergies and the antihistamine I need makes me so sleepy! I try to just deal with it until night time then take a pill and I sleep soundly for 11 to 13 hours.
The problem is that I'm still sleepy the next day so I usually take a nap, too. That sounds like a lot of sleep but I can't help it. I do feel better after it's all over and done, though.

With allergy one usually needs to take medicine, a nap alone won't do. I guess it's okay to take syrup that makes you drowsy and sleepy as long as you don't drive.

I will be very sleepy if i take some pills and just want to go to bed. So i believe that a short nap is very helpful to get rid of the fatigue.

You are right. Some people have allergies since childhood, some develop allergies in their adulthood. Drinking lots of water and consuming fresh fruits can help reduce the symptoms.
