I've been sick on and off since October, and it's really been taking a toll on me.
Unfortunately, for the last 5 days, I haven't been able to keep any solid food down and have lost 6lbs as a result.
There's been some flu going around, and I realized today that I've gotten it.
Every time I try to eat, I get sick, either end it seems. I don't know what to do anymore.
Hoping that I get better soon, this is driving me nuts, and I don't want to be going to the hospital because of this.

Well, it started in october and is still going on. Even worse since 5 days. I wouldn't wait a minute longer and go see a doctor! Maybe it's somthing that can just be cured. But the longer you wait, the bigger the chance you DO end up in the hospital.
Good luck and wisdom!

Nevermind the hospital, why not just go to your doctor? I am having some problems with one of my legs after falling twice in one week, and before going to the hospital, I'd rather just see my family doctor. He's been with my family for three generations, and he's awesome! The last time I went to the hospital was when I got sick in another city, and was nowhere near my family doctor.

For me, there area about 7 hospitals closer to me than my dr's office. Being in the state that I'm in, driving to his office would be dangerous.
I will be making a phone call later today to see what I should really be doing. With the backlog in even walk in clinics, I wouldn't get an appointment until next week most likely.
Our city has been hit hard with the flu outbreak, and everyone is going for flu shots or treatments.
This makes for a challenge to get in anywhere.

I would seek a doctor since it's been more than 5 days. You don't want your symptoms to get worst rather than better. There is alot of sickness going around though, I just got done getting over bronchitis & laryngitis so I know how you feel. I hope you feel better soon and are able to eat normal again.

You poor thing how awful for you.Just try to drink water as you don't want to dehydrate.I do hope you start to feel better soon.Have you let your doctor know, ring the doctor and ask for some advise.Don't worry about the weight loss as that will go back on as soon as your health improves.Take care keep warm and drink plenty of fluids maybe some soup would be ok.

So sorry your not feeling well. Maybe you should go to the hospital. That many months to be sick and then the flu also. Doesn't sound so good. Make sure you get plenty of fluids so you don't dehydrate.

When my son was little, and he could not keep anything down, the doctor had thought about sending him to the hospital. She told me to go home, get some 7 up and put a little salt in a small amount and have him drink it. It worked. She said it coats the stomach and settles it down.

This sounds similar to something my husband and I just got over. Fortunately, it didn't last terribly long for us, but how awful that you've been going through it for 5 days! I know how miserable that bug can be! If you haven't kept down food in that long, I think you should definitely see a doctor about it. I would be really worried about dehydration, especially. If you aren't able to keep down any fluids either, you might end up needing an IV to rehydrate.

that is a long time to have the flu. what is the average length of being sick with the bug? i hope you are at least replenishing your liquids. i would think that if it doesn't go away, you may want to go to see your family doctor. hope you feel better very soon!

Everytime I go home I got sick and stock for a couple of days in our home. I need to manage my business if I'm home but due to some sickness and allergies I am worried to go home. I don't like the climate in the area where my wife live. It's far from the weather in our place. I want to leave this place after few years

They're prescribing TamaFlu for this flu that is going around. The ER's and doctor offices are so overwhelmed that you could probably get a prescription with just a phone call to your doctor.
You are depleting your electrolytes with all of the vomiting and diarrhea so you definitely need to replace that. Try some generic immodium to settle your GI tract and then some Gatorade. It doesn't matter all that much that you're not eating but you just must get some fluids into your system.

Being ill on and off for so long a time can mean that there`s something wrong with you, more than a common fle. Maybe you should go to a doctor and have some tests done to you. This is the kind of thing that you cannot let go as if nothing is happening.

I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I too urge you to go to the doctor..sometimes things can be solved very quickly and so you say stop suffering. Two months is more than long enough to put up with not feeling well..go to the doctor.
All the best!!
