Because I am not feeling well, I took the opportunity to sleep during my lunch break. Immediately after taking my lunch and my medicine, I dozed off. I did not intend to sleep that long since I needed to work on something important -- not that urgent though. I think my body is too weak that I slept for three hours without even noticing it.

I experienced that before, too. Unlucky if you slept for that long in the office.
I would take naps in the afternoon so I could recharge. Sometimes I oversleep. Sometimes I notice that the food I consumed for breakfast can really affect whether I would feel sleepy after a few hours. I noticed that if I just have eggs for breakfast without any meat or anything mixed to it then I am more likely to feel drowsy sooner.

It was not hard sleeping in the office. It was rather quiet in the office today and I enjoy much privacy in my area.

You really must have needed the little bit of sleep. Are you sick? The flu? I can't imagine ever falling asleep like that during the day while being at work. Where do you work? And what did your employer say? I sure hope you are feeling better today. Maybe your medicine made you drowsy.

Yeah, I think I am sick. I wasn't really feeling well since this morning. I do not really have to worry about getting to sleep at that time of the day. I work in a university and it so happened that I got a very long break between my morning class and my afternoon class so I suppose that wouldn't have been a problem. My immediate superior is likewise sick and so she's on leave until Friday.

You are lucky enough to have sick room at your work place where you can take medicine and rest. We had a new office where we shifted and they did not have a sick room there. Once i was so sick, i couldn't stand my computer lights even. I was terrifically sick my back was breaking in pain. I was almost fainting, i had to go home on bike because i could not work there. I have left the job now, but i am still not well these days. I hope you feel better, you should take medicine some light dinner and sleep well.

You can immediately fall asleep , which means you are too tired and you really need that sleep. Our body is not a machine, sometimes it lodges a protest.
Hope you can feel better after the sleep. In fact, I sleep after lunch every day even if I don't want to sleep, it has been a habit of me, I feel energetic after the nap. Thanks for sharing, and have a nice day!

I know that feeling. I was that way in early January when I had my third major cold of the winter season. Fortunately it actually cured the insomnia I'd been having for the last year and actually got me sleeping on a normal schedule again! :) I'm feeling better now, and I hope you'll feel better soon too.

Oh, I hope you felt better after sleeping for three hours. I couldn't sleep at work even though I am really sleepy. The noise around me makes my mind awake. I am having my part time job in the morning from 8am to 12 noon and my full time (regular) job at 2pm to 11pm. I only have four to six hours sleep nowadays. I felt so sleepy last night around 9pm. I really had to fight my sleepiness because I still had my classes until 11pm. I hope I won't feel the same tonight. Get well soon. :)

Maybe it is because you are not feeling well.
Our body adjust automatically for it needs.
It's good that you have rested (although it happens in the office)
At least you were able to have a good rest not to worsen your health problem.

yes, you must have a good rest. I guess you give yourself too much pressure. so take care of yourself and have a relax mood everyday. i believe, if we work on it with a happy mood, you will enjoy your work and do not feel so tired. keep going. thank you andy from jtyhair

Well, i think you are alone in your office, that's why you can sleep as long as you want to without getting a memo afterwards.
Besides, your medicine since you aren't feeling well made you slept like that. However, in our office if you aren't feeling well, you can file undertime immediately so you can go home.

Sleep is how I respond to illness too, be it the cold, the crud, the flu, what have you. While you were snoring your body was working and getting things done.

I wish I have the excuse of sickness to have a little more sleep. It's cold and I want to hibernate really badly.

you have such good co workers and boss. they did not bother you while you were sleeping for hours. and they understood what you are going through. that is such great to know.
