I may say that some part of the world are lucky to have freedom. I was watching this particular movie, the country was so backward and ruled by military. The situation was tremendously chaotic in terms of local governance. If you have the chance of witnessing the courageous deed of The Lady in Burma, it will make or break your heart. The life is too difficult to bring two world at the same time. I won't elaborate more about it and encourage you to watch the movie. It is a very inspiring life story, a profound statements highlighted in the film would bring motivation to people for democracy.

Freedom is a beautiful word and yes in most democracy we have "freedom" but just as long as we do as our "freedom" sees right we may live in a "free" country but we still must do and follow RULES imposed to us. At the end of the day no one is really free I live in a free country but if I don't vote on election day I will have to pay a fine for not voting now I ask you is that freedom?

In freedom, a citizen is given a choice of what to do. provided he follow the Laws promulgated by scholars. Nobody can dictate him of whatever he want of his life. If ever there will be rules to be followed then he is still given the choice to select the actions or performance he want to perform. Bad decision or not it will be his own choice.

I believe that life has no meaning without freedom. You will be breathing, eating, talking, walking but not living. It will be like an animal in a cage.
Freedom is everyone's birth right and they shall have it.

Are there still any countries in the world which are under military rule and with no freedom and even under British rule?

Freedom is not free. You have to pay a price, you have to sacrifice for your liberty. Are you ready for that! I have gone through this phase Shavkat and I know how difficult it has been but it is worth every sacrifice made, every price paid!

Oh my God, I can't imagine if we don't have a freedom in our life? I can't imagine how difficult we should do just for a life? and what about woman and children if they live in no freedom world? I agree freedom is not free but must pay with huge price. But God give Freedom to us free not cost any huge price.

I will take a look at it and add to my list to review. I thank you for not giving too much away. Some people go into so much detail that you don't even need to see it after they are done.

Freeeeeedom.. I like that last line from Braveheart movie. Mel Gibson as William Wallace .. it was Scotland. Yes, that's very moving. Freedom is very precious and hard to achieve, in a sense that it doesn't involve money and yet power from the person or people hampering and chaining the freedom.
Remember the People Power? that's priceless freedom. However, can we say that we are really free?

Yes, but to be free must be with obligations to perform, Sometimes freedom is abused. Why? for reasons that the citizen are not all oriented of what is freedom? How to enjoy it? You are free provided you have not done wrong to your neighbors or to your government, meaning you are answerable to your own wrong doings committed. Respect others right, as they respect yours. I really love Democracy.

There is no perfect form of government there is always something messy but compared to other, Democracy is the best, it is a Government in a Modern World, Anybody can be whatever he wanted to be. Visit places & enjoy on his choice. I am very happy and proud that I was born free to live and die on my own choice.

ever heard of mobcracy? It's extreme but soemtiems it does exits. Even democracy isn't perfect. It is only best if the people chose it to be best for them.

The struggle for freedom is always noble and may even require some sacrifices of lives, money and so forth. However, it is different when freedom is actually in practice. Many people feel that they should show their freedom by using it excessively or not knowing the complications of such freedom. This might even cause in abusing other people’s freedom as well.
People fighting for freedom might even doubt its costs and what implications it may bring. However, there is the freedom itself that somehow provides comfort and hope. Democracy is good but if you’re the minority in a free society, it’s not always roses and peaches.

I think it was under the military rule, and now it is under the unitary government. I don't understand the exact structure but it is said that even its constitution is very new. It is bicameral government.
I don't know which movie you are talking about, but it seems to be about some revolutionary lady.

Hi
About Burma i remember only one lady and she is "Aung San Suu Kyi". I heard many stories about how she fought for the freedom and was kept way from her family.
And there are many stories in the world where people fought for their freedom.
This makes me realize that freedom just has "free" in the name but its not free we have to fight for it and of course have to loose many things in life.

Depending on the government of your nation and its regulations, attaining certain freedoms can be difficult. While it can be difficult to obtain, I still think it's worth fighting for. I believe that everyone should have their chance at freedom. I believe that freedom is a civil right.

Freedom is so sweet but too much is dangerous, can cause cancer like what's happening nowadays. I saw a different documentaries of some countries fighting for democracy, for freedom. Yes, they won and the next generation till now are very lucky and I hope for the young people to pay respect for their freedom and not to abuse it because it took tears, blood and life of our ancestors to ask for this..freedom.

I think that it seems that it should be such a simple and automatic part of our lives. I dont understand why each person cant live with a sense of peace and freedom surrounding them. I am worrying more and more about how little freedom we actually have and how much more is in jeopardy of being taken from us. Its very sad.

I consider myself to be very lucky that I was born in and have always lived in a country where I've been able to enjoy freedom. I remember hearing stories when I was growing up where children were taken away from their parents at a very young age so that they can start training for a career that they will have for the rest of their lives. Then there are the other countries where couples are limited to only have one child, I couldn't imagine what my life would be like if I wouldn't have been allowed to have both of my children.

I am from India,a country that had wrestled its political freedom from the British 65 years ago.I and people in my age group actually don't know what it means to be a citizen of a slave country. Our elders know the pain.My parents are no more, but when they were alive, they often used to tell us how slavish life was then.
If I am not wrong, then perhaps you are talking about Suu Kyi.She is certaily a brave lady.I would rather say,an iron lady.Fighting against the military junta needs courage.I salute her and her struggle to set her countrymen free from the arbitrary rule of military.
