I am working for a company for around 6 months now. The pay is very small and I hardly make ends meet. I can save a bit money every month but it is very tough for me to save. I have to be very careful on spending on food, car maintenance etc to save money.
I am trying to look for a high paying job at least pay higher than current pay. What do you think?

New employees are usually on probation for the first six months just to make sure they can and will do the job. Why don't you wait a little while to see what happens? If things don't improve pay wise, ask for a raise. The worse that will happen is that your employer will say no. I think you should ask for a raise before you look for another job.

You can try and look for another job that will help you meet your basic needs without depriving yourselfs from essential stuff, pay your bills and feel a bit independent. You just have to remember that it's ahuge unemployment crisis all over the world and you must find a new job while you still work at the present one and after you're confirmed the new job, then leave a notice - if it's possible, of course. It's the safest way.
Or, if you love your job, you simply can ask for promotion before you start looking for a new job. You're working for only 6 months in this company and it's probably still a trial period. Maybe after that period your salary will get higher, why don't you ask your colleagues?

I would look for a 2nd job or a part time job to supplement. If you feel you are doing a good job and you are beyond the probationary period of three months you could get brave and request a raise. I wouldnt leave the job until you had another guaranteed stable position to go to however.

We have the same problem here and in my case I am already working 8 months already which is 2 months ahead from yours. Then I have no contract with this company so actually anytime soon I can resign whenever I want. But of course my problem is to find another new job and it is really hard to be hired. So I am still sacrificing here and after my travel in Bangkok that will be my time again to apply in another company. More so I am still asking for allowance from my mother it is because I can't really save if I am going to use my money. It is also frustrating for me to spend for the travel.

If this is your first job and if the skills you use here can help in getting more salary in a few months time, I would urge you to stay.Learn the tricks and tips and skills from there and make a move from there. That will also help in your next organisation and will be jumpstarting things. You can also make up for the money in mean time. However, if skills and things are not worth and you are having discomfort with things, you need to seriously sit down and write down your jobs and interests.Channelise your job and profession according to your interests. This would help in performing job well.Although money is not everything, you need to ensure you are comfortable and your have relevant skills in today's market.Money can be made shortly as many of my freinds started slowly but are earning big now.Only thing key here is skill. Can it help you in long run.The answer to that will give you the real picture.I know its hard but soon you will get things as needed.I have been in that same path before.Wish you the very best in all future endeavors. My friend is very fond of your blog and things.Keep writing and inspire many bloggers in the online world. Thanks

yes, you totally can look for another job but don't look at this as the only option, you can-
- look for another job (may be part time) that cold add to your income
- start a sideline if you have other skills or talents
- start a part time business (for this you should start small)
I assume that like where I come from finding a job is not easy, so be sure that you would be better off if you quit your current job because sometimes there are decisions that you cannot take back.

That's the only way to solve your problems regarding your monthly expenditures. It's very hard to work in a company that won't give you enough salary that can support you on your needs and wants. If I were you, I will try to find another job that compensate your effort.

Hi sdas
Nice you have been there from 6 months and try to be patient for another 6 months if u complete 1 year you can gain some more experience don't worry about the pay now you will get more as time goes on you can shift to a new job once you gain knowledge and experience .It is good to look a for new but i suggest don't leave the old one now , you just search and leave it when you are confirmed that you got a new job. All the best

Before signing a contract to a certain company, you should know the salary scheme of the company. So that you will know what to expect from them. During the orientation, the human resource used to laid all the policies and the mode of payment. If you wish to find a job, you still need to be in that company and applying to other prospect employers. If you found the ideal job, then you can file for resignation.
