No matter what means it is, by plane or boat, I hate it. The boat ride to the next island was like torture. It was a 45-minute ride but I was feeling very scared because the waves were so big and they made the small boat rock from side to side, so many times!
Coming back was worst. The waves were even bigger and rocked the ferry boat even more I thought we'd all drown. It was a very frightening experience. The whole time I was shaking and my heart was beating so fast. I could feel all my blood rushing up to my head and I was already planning what I'd do if it tilts or capsizes to one side or the other side.
In my mind, the first thing I would do is to get a life jacket and head for the nearest exit, that is, if the boat capsizes or dips to the left, I'd go to the right, etc. I was waiting for the worst and I was openly expressing it to one of the boat crew.
Have you ever experienced the same thing?

No, but I love traveling. I love seeing these places. yes just wear life jacket whenever you are going to ride a ferry, boat or ship . it is an SOP. Even if the people beside you don't wear them. I do that. I am okay with all kinds of transportation. I have even ridden a carabao or buffalo. LOL. the only transportation I have not ridden yet is a horse. I wish I can ride on a horse.

I had severe ear pain when I flew on planes. My ears would not pop so the pressure built up in my ears. Descending and landing was very painful for my ears. I flew on planes from 1987 until 1997 with ear pain including a trip around around the world from 1993 until 1994. Then all that changed when a friend gave me a pair of ear planes just before I went to Kenya.
I get sea sick on ferry trips when the waves are rough. I look at land as it is still compared to the waves if that is possible. I tried wearing a band around my wrist and it worked traveling from the South Coast to the Channel Islands. I didn't feel at all well on a high speed ferry crossing the Irish Sea. The sea was way too rough that day and all further sailings that day were cancelled.

We are not the same, I really love travel. I want to see different places. Before I always travel to different cities in the Philippines but after I got married, it happens occasionally due to some responsibilities I have with my family.
Hoping to travel again after I fix all things specially with my incoming baby that will see me soon.

I don't mind the travel as long as it wouldn't take hours! Traveling by boat is my least favorite way to travel. But I think I can limit myself to a couple of hours of air and road travel. My latest plane travel took me 19 hours! I told my husband that I would be happy if I wouldn't have to be in an airport for a couple of weeks. Imagine my chagrin when I learned that I have to travel again next week with 2 airports to stop by to.

i lived all my life in the city and sometimes i want to travel to the province.
all i hate about travelling is when you have to transfer from one vehicle to another. i would have wanted to ride a bus which will have to travel for hours so that i can still sleep.

I hate flying, I am a nervous and anxious person at the best of time, the thought of flying just feels me with terror, I know I should face my fears and I have flown in the past, but it's been an ordeal, the waiting around is probably the worst bit and the landing! So I hear what you are saying about hate travelling, boats I find entrapping in that there's no escape from them, that is why I wouldn't want to go on a cruise, the worst experience on a boat I had was a four hour journey and the sea was very rough, we were going up and down, everyone was green and being ill, wherever you looked now that was enough to make you sick, even though you weren't actually sea sick! But it was a long boring, tedious journey, with nothing but sea all around - to me that's speaks of entrapment!

same with me especially by land vehicles such as taxis and buses and travel by the seas makes me dizzy too. the only type of travel which very relaxing for me is to travel by plane but the idea of getting caught in a plane accident is also may fear. so it is the fastest but also a quick way to die in case of air crash, engine malfunction and many things and i calm myself by praying. i also try to take medicines against dizziness and some brand s effective while other brand is ineffective.

Yes of course I grow up in a small Island, What you feel is the feeling of almost all beginners. My first ride almost kill me I felt dizzy and all the food I've eaten was all in vain and the last to go out of my mouth is already colored yellow I almost lost my memory but since I was in an Island with my parents I've no choice until then I was used to it and today I am no longer living in a small Island but in a bigger Island.

Hi cutie
I can understand because i am also afraid of water
But the way you described it is some what funny .You didn't even leave the poor boat crew. I am pretty sure from now onwards he will remember your words when he is on the boat.
yes of course i have experienced this long back when i was kid and as i said i was very afraid and caught my mom's hand tight .
