I read a quatation about cooking. It said that for a cook, recipes and cookbooks are just guide and an intelligent cook can modify it creating a better dish.
As a passionate in the kitchen, I definitely agree with this one. In my own experience, sometimes the measurements indicated in the recipes can be modify to enhance flavors. Furthermore, to make a great dish, you should not exactly follow the procedures and the ingredients in the recipe. You may find alternatives too.
For me, cooking is like an experiment. You can research and try sometime to create a good results.
What are your thoughts about this one mylotters? Good day!

I absolutely love to experiment while cooking. I often don't even use cookbooks but try my own inventions in the kitchen. I am constantly changing recipes and addapting them to my own and families tastes. It is a joy to cook and I enjoy it everyday!

I absolutely agree with you. I really love to cook and I usually collect recipes online and find alternatives. Some of the ingredients are really hard to find and too expensive so you better search online for alternatives without compromising the taste of the dish or even improve it. Its also not necessary to follow the measurements specially if you'll increase the serving of the dish. It takes practice with hardwork to master cooking. Cook and cook and later on you'll notice that you can easily get the exact measurement of ingredients without using measuring spoon or cups. Dont hesitate to try something new because it will boost your confidence on cooking different kind of dishes. Dont forget to let others taste your dish to get response and improve your cooking.

That is true. I also look recipes in the internet and found some ingredient are not avaliable here in our country, if available it is really expensive. I tried to look for some alternatives and it goes well with the dish.
You really need to work your taste bud in cooking in order to get the desired taste. This is one of the technique of a good cook, you have to taste what you are cooking at east three times.

I agree with you in that. Cooking is all about experimenring. For the first time trying a recipe, I would go for the actual quantities and everything, but then I will change a little bit here and there, add or take out something, make it more interesting. And when it gets better than the original then I am very happy!

I agree with you. Furthermore, even you have already your own recipe, you may still improve it by adding additional spices and flavorings. Also the way you cooked for that food. In my case, there are some recipes I got but I tried to follow it with a little variation. The major ingredients are kept in contact while the spices, I made some modifications.

I also love to cook but I seldom make use of cookbooks. I hate measuring things in the kitchen while cooking. I just pop it in the pot then taste afterwards if it is already okay. Sometimes i have cooked and have not tasted it at all, but still my kids would say that the dish tasted great!

Just same here. There are also dishes that I did not tried tasting them and it was still great. Like you, measuring the ingredients is very tasky but there are time especially when I am going to make the dish for the first time and when the taste, for I think, lacks something, I just modify it and keep it in mind so the next time I make the said dish, I don't need teh recipe anymore.

I agree, if we know how to cook basic recipes; then we may that having a new recipe will created out of experimenting. Some good chefs are into this kind of practice and even simple housewife can have a secret ingredients for a certain meal.

I agree with you too. Like some popular dishes, there are many ways of cooking it when you look at different cookbooks or recipes. Each has their own secrets. Like what you said, chefs used to create and modify the dishes creating new one. That is a great talent for them.

Sometimes, trying different recipes or dishes it a good option because it felt bored when cooking the same food over and over so we need to experiment and try our capabilities in cooking. good for you that you learned cooking too. This will help you in the future. Like mine, I used to cook since I was 7 years old and now, I think I am quite good at it.

Absolutely correct. The more you experiment in your kitchen the more you going to come out with flying flavors and taste. I always experiment with food in my kitchen, i try to add different spices and new ingredients. Try to prepare a new dish by just creative ideas. But i see that i don't mismatch any ingredients that are not friendly with each other. Like if you are going to add milk and squeeze in lemon in it. It is sure to spoil your dish. So go ahead by making a combination with some friendly ingredients.

It is a continuous learnign process too. I will keep in mind your tips. Maybe I should still research on the mix matches too. I tried using lemon and coconut milk and it does not jive. Another lesson learned in cooking.

Sometimes, you really encouter some disaster in the kitchen but this should not be the one that will stop you from cooking. Hence, you should use this as motivation and part of learning the kitchen.

One thing not to forget is to take note of the things while cooking so the time you got a perffect dish, you will just go back to the notes and repeat the dish as many times as you can. Not only the good things but the bad things happend in your dish too. This can be used as reference for other dishes.

That is another great idea. Just like I said, you can experiment and create a new recipe. Like what you did, combining multiple recipes resulting into one great recipe.

Exactly. Furthermore, using different ingredient particularly the brand because of availability in your area will also yield different taste. So it is really up to one's hand on how the dish was made to make it great tasting.

This is true, i like the quotations. We have to creative in out life because life is so dynamic and we have to flexible with it and still followed with it.
We have to do research day to day to get more and more success in our life, and we can not stopped at all without learning to do something.

that is the wonder of cooking and being a good cook is being not afraid to take the risk in experimenting what you cook. Like in your case, your expectators give you a good comment on that. Maybe they will give you a perfect score.
