Are you aware about those places in the Philippines which already have a Food Truck on it? Where you can buy foods and eat inside a truck? And I've heard they serve a gourmet type of meals which can only be seen on restaurants. Besides, the one who cooks the foods were certified chefs! :)

It is really convenient to have those food trucks nearby where my workplace is situated. They have a variety there, fruits are also included. Caters breakfast, lunch, dinner to snacks. Their prices costs a little affordable, too. I'm a fan of this as long as they have sanitary permits. Nice topic. Thanks

That's a very reasonable price for a full meal, I like that.

Similar to food trucks are already present here in the Philippines, especially around Makati, they are called "JolliJeep".
Anyways, I think you're talking about the recent Food truck "tiangge"? I saw it on TV a few days ago, I could've tried going to the event but I recent;y gave birth so I'm stuck at home :(
I do hope food trucks will not just be a fad here though. It will be a good business venture for food lovers.

Unluckily, in our office , it seems that yahoo has a problem so it doesn't open, jazel . Hence, i miss this bit of news.
Well, i guess it's about time and that food truck should be at a different place each day, so it could serve many different places and let Filipinos taste the specialties of those chefs.

I have heard and seen food trucks on American Streets. They run mostly on streets on New York, New jersey. Yes they are indeed run by chefs. But most of them are self risen chefs. They have tried those recipes and their ideas at home and came out with something that people will love to eat. The most i love and would love to try when on my visit to New York in future will be The Grilled Cheeserie. Man they serve some of the most gooey cheese any one could fall for.

I also heard that! But in my country, as far as I'm concern, it is just my first time that food trucks came into existence. :)

I saw a food truck in front of a University here in my area... it was not a very big one... i wanted to approach it and try the food but i was in a hurry... i might when i pass by that area again... i was actually hoping for more food trucks rather than the food carts where some do not even look well maintained... at least a food truck has amenities like a a kitchen, running water, etc...

Hi,
There are some ambulant food vendors on the streets nowadays, on carts or on pedicabs selling anything from balut to ice cream. It is not a new phenomenon if we only look around. Now, the idea of a truck used to sell food or as an eating place only brings the concept to a higher level. A truck or a van cost a lot, almost like a whole house and lot by our standards. It is a very convenient mode of selling though, one can roll in on a particular spot, a beach or a park, open the side doors, deploy the canopies, tables and benches and one is off to a brisk food trade. At the end of the day, which can only be a few hours long, it is only a matter of packing up the props, lock up and drive away or take a nap inside the food truck which can double for a mobile home and counting the profits afterwards.
The idea has been rolling around my head for quite sometime now but I still can't get it off due to the prohibitive start up costs and paperwork involved.

I don't know this because I"m in the USA. That sounds like a nice thing to have especially with such great food. We have 'food trucks' too but it surely is not by certified gourmet chefs! Its usually just a taco or hot dog place.

Not sure there... here in Mexico most of those trucks are owned by restaurants here. So most have great cooks in them.

I've seen mobile food carts in Makati but I haven't seen any food trucks wherein people can eat inside. Can you tell us where we can find these food trucks? I'm really interested and would really like to try their gourmet food. I've been craving for gourmet food and am really anxious to try some. I hope they're not as expensive as those restaurants who offer gourmet cooking.
