I agree that cocker spaniels are great dogs, but they tend to have a mind of their own.. LOL! That can be a pain in the behind sometimes. However, the dog you have in the picture is actually a cavalier king charles spaniel; those are my favourite dogs^_^ They are spaniels too but they are not the same, cavaliers (I will just call them that for short), are more gentle and easy going. Cocker spaniels are funny and more active while cavaliers tend to be more cuddly and subtle. This doesn't go for each and every one of them, but still; it's a guideline. They have a lot in comment otherwise. Cocker spaniels have broader and longer noses too, and they are bigger too. Cavaliers are more slim. I added a picture of my own cavalier king charles spaniel to this post, her colour is called a 'black and tan'. The one in your picture is called a 'blenheim'. There is also 'tri-colour' and 'ruby'(brownish red); those are the four colours that official breeders allow:)

Labs and german shepheards

I prefer the smaller dogs but love all dogs very much. I like the Datschund (not sure of the spelling), schnauzers, poodles and chihuahuas very much. I wish that I could have a dog but I am not home much.

I love Bassett Hounds. I have two girls. They are very lovable and great with kids. Only issues I have with my girls is: they are very lazy and get ear infections easily. Since their ears are sooo long, this causes a greater risk to pick-up dirt. Make sure you keep Bassetts on a strict meal plan and take them for walks every day.
