Hey there, where have you been? Yes, when we got used to having the internet all the time we think it would be terrible if we are to go somewhere without internet connection. I am the same that is why my phone plan have internet browsing on it just in case. But then there are times and places that we never even miss the internet because we get to do stuff that we never thought we will enjoy.

For some going without the net, is like going cold turkey, the net I agree can be very addictive. I know when I moved out of my ex's and I had to go without the internet for 3 months! In the end I had to go to the library to get logged on, you don't realize how much you miss the net, until you lose it.

HI Shavkat! =) How are you doing? I think we all can sometimes be free and enjoy a day without internet... he he but you'd be itching to have your hands on a phone or on a laptop at times (especially if you are not busy doing anything) of course if you are busy, then you won't notice time passing. he he
Hope you enjoy your day!

I really missed dribbling my fingers on the keyboard while having the internet. Thus I am still doing the same maneuver, but doing all the paper works relative to my new jobs. It was really tiring but I am enjoying the moment, though I missed this site.

I do all my work on-line so no 'net means no money. I agree with you that unplugging from the service is good every once in a while. I usually do my unplugging at this music festival the first weekend of every June. Feels good!

I recently went to my son's wedding and was 4 days without internet access. I found it refreshing! I heard no news, no politics, I just mingled with his new family and got to know people. We played cards, talked--as much as people who don't know each other's language can!--saw the sights of Mexico and had a great time. If I had a regular job where I could make a good living I think I'd confine my internet activities to just email!
I hope you're enjoying your new job!

You really are a much stronger person than I am because I really don't think that I would be able to survive for more than just a few days without having access to the internet. The reason that this is the case for me is because of the fact that I've been using the internet on pretty much a daily basis since I was sixteen years old and since I've been using the internet daily for half of my life, I really can't think of what it would be like to go without having that additional access to the outside world.

Nice that your downtime from the internet didn't hurt you any. I think everyone needs time away from technology so they realize how the world works when we don't have those things.

I too had a computer/Internet drama. I had to replace my operating system from Linux Mint 12 to Linux Mint 14. The issue was that my computer was lagging terribly. One should clear out and reinstall an operating system every year, a 'spring cleaning' if you will. Linux is free, so you can upgrade without hurting the pocketbook.

Hi Shavkat: Well, all I can say it's congratulations. For me it would be hard specially because almost everything I do: work, entertainment, connecting with people implies the use of internet, so it would be hard for me to stay away from the internet for a whole week but it must be good to detoxification to stay far away from technology for a while.

Good day Shavkat,
With reference to your post, let me commend you with that. As it is quite difficult to live in a place where there is no internet connection. Aside from that, it will really a big adjustment on your part. And, I guess if I will be placed in a locality where there is no internet I will definitely have a big adjustment. Since being in an online world is a part of me. What you have done is commendable.

Nowadays, I can not leave without internet, even not for work, I like to watch vedio through the internet. If I find a comfortabe place and enjoy it, I should forget the net.
