I was out of myLot of 2 days. My connection was cut off by our provider. I hate them because for few days before my connection was very slow. When I call their office last day, no one will reconnect my connection. They are all busy for other matters and the in-charge was out of town. Yesterday, I wasn't here in our shop, I have a very important appointments with our local government office so still I didn't reconnect my internet. This morning back to normal.
I paid my dues and they promise to reconnect not more than one hour but an hour passed still no connection so I called them. I have a double connection from my provider, an internet and the telephone. I want to cut off the telephone because their no used for us.
People are tend to use Mobile phone than telephone. I told them already that we need to cut off both by May 2013. We will apply another provider for internet connection only. I paid 700 pesos for telephone every month with out usage.

I see, is your phone part of the package together with your internet connection? If so, I think you can ask the provider to just provide you with an internet connection and remove the phone connection..Also, ask them to lower down the payment since you will be using only the internet connection.

Yeah those telecom service providers do that often. I was also a victim of unusual internet Disconnection. I was paying bills for the telephone which I hardly ever used. So I get rid of all those. Now I mylot through my cell phone which is easy & convenient. Now I can mylot from anywhere.

Here in Manila, there are three internet providers that is also a telephone provider that is Globe, Bayantel, and PLDT. Among the three it is only Globe that provides for an internet only connection without bundled telephone subscription. Both Bayantel and PLDT offers bundled phone and internet connection always.
I agree with you that Telephones seem to be outdated already since most use cellphone to call or text someone and does not use telephone that much.

I do not know about wireless services they have but I have tried Wi-Tribe demo and it really is slow and unreliable. I heard from a technician that the wired internet is still the best and most reliable service you can get from them. Wireless is good if you are near their devices but once you are far from it then a sudden change of weather might affect the signal.

Well, it is annoying anymore that they always seem to get you coming and going, and when you try to change something they want to raise your rates to almost what it is with everything included. And then Cell phones, especially thru a company, the price is outrageous. Around here many people are switching to pre paid phone services and saving lots. Just makes you wonder who really is in charge, and why they tend to want to make everything so difficult. But Glad to see you back online.

You did not mention the name of your ISP. Is it PLDT, SMART, Globe, SUN or others? But from what you described, it looks like you have gotten a very poor ISP. That is really a big problem. Paying 700 a month for telephone for nothing is a waste of money. Go and find the right ISP which will serve your best. A slow internet or worse no connection, is a nightmare. I swear, it is the last thing I want to experience in the cyber world.

Most mobile phone provider especially for internet connection is highly expensive!
About internet provider which kind of connection? ADSL or cable?
I would suggest cable
If you consider changing your landline, I would consider using voip (voice over IP) providers, it cheaper than landline
All is require is an high speed connection (adsl or cable)
Most voip provider provide voip gateway or may require customer to purchase it which cost is between $40-$50
I this help!

That is what happens in business people change companies and bad service is one good reason to do so. Of course you can but you can also pick up the phone and tell them you are history.
You can do this even if it is only you intention to do so. Who knows they may listen then or give you something if you stay? But maybe you still wouldn't want to?

Did you pay your bill way past the due date? If that is the case then the service provider will really take some time restoring your connection. They have to wait until your payment has been cleared in their account, the accounts department needs to post the payment under your account, and then they will issue the clearance to their operations to restore your service. But I agree that you do not actually need a landline phone when most people in your household have cellphones. Just opt for the internet only connection. It might be even cheaper.

I paid 5 days before the due date but still they didn't resolve my concerned quickly. Maybe they are thinking that we don't have any choices because they are the only DSL provider here in our place. We have another ISP but it's broadband and as we know broadband connection is not good specially during bad weather

I experienced the same thing, they are so slow in reconnecting the internet and very fast in collecting payments, very annoying. There was even sometimes when we don't have connection for some weeks and we kept on asking what happened but they are not giving straight answers and just let us wait when will be net again and for those weeks that we don't have internet, we still paid for a whole month.

You are correct. They are greedy. They are thinking the money, the revenue they will get from us but the service are very very poor. They should explain the reason why the become slow and what is the cause rather than letting the issue hanging without out clear answers

Going regularly and instead having a cup of tea from thier pocket. It was't fun. Hope you get over the solution quickly. Without Internet There is nothing to do :(

Yes, this telecommunication provider are smart to bundle up a package
that tied up land line and internet line. The same applies to me here
in Malaysia. My internet line is so slow and the land line I hardly use.
Once in awhile this service provider will call to ask me to do upgrade,
that means have to pay extra. Perhaps you can look for a better internet
provider. It is now very competitive.

Better get rid of services that is of no use to cut down monthly payments. I think I would be doing the same. Our phone bill is just 500 pesos a month and my son is the only one who uses it all the time in talking to his girlfriend. They can just talk on their mobile phones.

With everyone having cellphone in your household, i think there's no use for a land line my friend.
If ever there is a need to call to a landline phone , you can do it from the store who offers a telephone for a fee. That way, you get to save the monthly PhP700.00.

I got a good internet provider just that sometimes bit slow . I didn't agree to be bundles it with voice because so very impractical because we have mobile already that is so convenient to use and not so expensive especially that we have nowadays unlimited calls.
Do you have back up when your service provided is down ? You should have one so you can continue working and can catch deadline. Me ? i got another plug in connection that when main provider gets down then i can still continue doing all my internet work.
