Your opinion, My opinion, Everyone's opinion

Opinions are like.... um... noses... most everyone has one.
How do you handle other people who have a different opinion than yours? Do you get mad and argue? Do you get mad and storm off? Do you try to talk them into seeing your side but not listen to theirs.
I try to keep an open mind. I listen to what they have to say and try to learn why they think they are right. That doesn't mean I will change my thoughts on it but at least I can understand where they are coming from and why they feel as they do.
So.... what is your opinion?

Im the same as you. I actually like to hear opinions that differ from mine. I like to hear why a person believes the way they do. Generally it will not change my views but I will grow and learn and maybe have a better understanding in the future.

I don't talk a lot actually. When people argue me, I will just face them in calm mode . I will say what I know based on my opinion, but if she/he typical person who think she is the only right, I will not argue. It's useless

It depends on how important I feel the issue is and how much I feel I am right. I feel others have as much right to their opinion as I do.

If someone has a different opinion than me, that is okay, as like you said, we all have one, and we don't all agree with each other on things either. That is just the way it is. I don'tget mad, I just try to explain my side of things, but on the other hand I have had some that will really argue, when I don't agree with them. I try to explain, that they have their opinion and Ihave mine, and to more or less just let it go at that.It does no good to argue, as no one wins anyway.

@TLChimes That is the hardest part, as we have a tendency to get upset if they don't agree with us, but we all need to remember that we all have different opinions, and it doesn't mean one person is more right or wrong than the other. I am learning that as well.

I try to keep an open mind, until they start trying to force me to agree when I would just as soon to agree to disagree and not argue. Don't get me wrong, I will argue what i believe to be are facts, but opinions...sometimes I can see another's point, but frankly it is hard to get me to change my mind on some things. I really don't like to argue over petty things...for instance, my sister has a bad habit of playing show and tell with me (and others, really, any audience will do)...3:30 am and she's in here talking about making sock garters. Who cares? Not me...so i let her get mad and go away. To me that's petty. I work hard and don't really care if her socks match her outfit. She's 45. I love her and have tolerated this random stuff since i got home from work at 10:30. Enough is enough. I'm not going to argue about the importance of sock garters. I don't care. It's that simple. haha Sorry to go off topic, aso let me tie that back in, it is my opinion that sock garters bear zero importance in my life. It is my opinion that I don't need to be shown everything every free minute of my day.
I can understand the importance of many things, but I have finally gotten to a stage in my life that I really don't care to argue over petty things.

I don't mind long debates and long arguments about anything. But not everyone wants to discuss opinions and issues. They want to state what they believe and shut down any discussion. Those people will never hear you, so it's no use talking.

It depends on the subject, how strongly I feel about the issue, and my mood that particular day. If I am in a relaxed or fun mood, then I will normally say something silly and try to divert the conversation in a different direction if I feel an argument coming on. If I am in a grumpy mood, then I might argue, especially if the other person just wants to insist that they are right without giving any reasons or listening to why I feel differently about the subject. If I am in a curious or debating mood, then I will certainly listen to the other person with an open mind. I like to hear why people feel the way they do about things, especially when they feel differently than I do about the subject. I do not always understand, but I do try to see things from their viewpoint, and sometimes I find that we can find common ground on a topic.

I will listen to all sides - but in the end, my opinion is my opinion. There are some opinion topics I can be very vocal about, but others I just keep to myself. If I feel an argument coming on, I try to steer the conversation to another topic - I'm not the type to just storm off. And if there is someone who is completely overbearing about their opinions, I just kinda nod my head that at least I'm listening - I don't want to speak because I already know that conversation won't go anywhere.

You will not believe this but this thought did occur to me about a situation. I feel sorry for that situation when it is looked at from different angles and still no one understands it

It's perfectly okay for different people to have different opinions as long as the clash of opinions doesn't give rise to a violent activities, as is usually the case around sectarian violence.Everyone is different ,in the way they think, in their choices and so on. I believe that a person shouldn't be affected by the fact that other person has a different opinion but rather acknowledge and embrace the fact that people will have different opinions .
