Christmas Music

I'm crazy for Christmas music -- well, most Christmas music. Because we observe Advent, though, I tend to hold off until later in the month. By then everyone else is sick of the carols. I enjoy the local Christmas concerts quite a bit. How about you? Are you crazy for Christmas music or does Christmas music drive you crazy?

I love Christmas music, espeically the religious ones, as Jeuss is the reason for the season, so I loved to sing about his birth at this time of year. I haven't played any of my "Christams CD's yet, as I have mujsic on my Ipad that I listen too.

@Sheilamarie78 I just love to sing the Christmas carols. We sang them in church ovedr the weekend, and it was so great. This next weekend we will be having a choir give a concert at church, and they are great, as we have them every year. I really get blessed, and leave there feeling better than when I got there.

Not really. I mean I am a Hindu and the first time I ever heard Christmas Carols was when I was in sixth grade and even then we used to have Christmas vacations. I think the music is catchy. :) Hard to forget? Like twinkle twinkle little star is sung the same way across the world..simply because of its tune. lol.

I love Christmas carols and I have several CDs with them, from choruses to Christmas songs sung by pop singers.

I like to hear the variety and how different singers approach the songs.

I like Christmas carols at Carol Services or special Christmas performances. I do not like jingle bells and the like being played in the shops. I can neither enjoy the songs or the shopping with so much distraction. There is one Carol that I especially love because someone found one of my poems and wrote music to it, performed it live and put it on dropbox for me to hear. The choir sang in harmony and my words were greatly enhanced.

We played so many carols so often when we were in the brass band that I don't think I'll ever get over it!

@Sheilamarie78 We haven't been in a band for ages but we spent a good few years in brass bands when we were first married. We met in a brass band.

It does depend on the specific carol and who is singing it. My favourite Christmas album is Christmas with Placido Domingo.

I guess it depends on the song versions! Some are nice, some are annoying - ha ha! I think I do tend to enjoy the instrumental ones - I can work while I listen and not get to distracted.

@Auntylou When there are special offers on things you'd be buying anyway, it makes sense to stock up.

I know what you mean. It bothers me that the carols are used to sell stuff. People become more vulnerable to spend money they don't have.

@Sheilamarie78 They don't make me spend more as I go there every day, buying things for home and for the bar. I only ever buy what I need or special offers that will keep

Around here, at least, people seem to be wanting more, not less, of the Christmas music. Last year one of the local radio stations began broadcasting all Christmas music from Thanksgiving up through Christmas day.

We don't get a lot of music on the radio. I only get one station and it's mostly talk.

I am having good friends. They play Guitar and Drums. They asked me to make a good song play on for the Christmas. I am at it. They regularly come to my house and we give a trial. A good get together.. We all meet and play and see how it is going and how it can be made more beautiful. The breakfast and lunch and in some days even the Dinner also will be at my house. The house is full every day with friends and their chit chatting. I am enjoying it a lot...
