I sure as hell am not. I still have some people to buy for and more of the house to decorate. Don't think I am fully in the Christmas spirit yet. Still getting over last Christmas lol

"Broke as a joke" kind of a funny expression isn't it? Not exactly fun to be broke. Yes, I am broke. My uncle gave me a $50.00 gift card just a little while ago. He told me he wasn't getting me anything but then went and got me something anyway. I just spent $25.00 on a gift card for him.
That was the last gift. So two more gifts to arrive, and two that need wrapping.

lol I know. I never did quite get the meaning of that. Like I sort of get it but I don't at the same time.
That was nice of him to do that and then nice of you to do that.
My nan in Sydney gave me some money as well as a gift card but I am going to use that gift card to finish buying Christmas presents. I do that every year. I don't think I have ever used a gift card on myself. I just keep using it for other people because I am usually broke as a joke.

@VivaLaDani13 It depends on what I get as a gift card as to whether or not I spend it on myself. The gift card my uncle gave me will be spent on myself but will benefit a nephew who also likes wha tI like.

I don't have the Chrismas meal as I go to my son's and spend it with him, and the family. I don't really shop, as I either give gift cards or I give money which is much easier all the way around. I haven't got the money yet, but I will do that next week, probably on Christmas Eve, or the day before. It will get done, and I still have a week, so I am not worried about it. If my son and family decide that they want something other than money, then I can get that too. At least I don't have to cook, but then I never do for Christmas,as my daughter-in-law wants to do it, so I just let her, and besides, she is a great cook, much better than I am or ever will be.

@JudyEv As long as you don't have to spend it alone, that is the main thing, as it is no fun to spend alone, as i have done it. I know that I will enjoy my time with my son on Christmas, as I always do. There are just a few of us and we reminisce and have lots of memories that we share togehter.

Im ready for Christmas to be Over. I'm not enjoying the holiday. We were broke BEFORE the holiday, but sure are now.
Now, all our gifts have been bought (as few as there are) and wrapped, so we are ready in that way.
But I'm ready for the first week of January when I can tuck the holidays away for another year.

@VivaLaDani13 Thank you. I do need some luck. Unfortunately my job just informed me that after the 1st of the year I' no longer be a full time employee, so I'm losing hours and taking a pay cut.

We are like that on Diwali. People to visit gifts to distribute etc etc Not to forget the thorough cleaning of the house, white washing / painting, decoration

Christmas? What Christmas? I'll be flat out working two jobs, plus working on the house... haven't even got air-con yet (41 degrees heatwave again) & still broke as a joke! I hope your situation's better.

@VivaLaDani13 Me, I am almost there. The white Christmas tree has been set up but it is not fully made up. I want to put more unique trinkets which I think I can find at the bazaar on Sunday. I still have to wrap the gifts for my godchildren.
