Spending quality time with yourself... "Me Time"

After a long week of hard work at the office, running the household and family errands, I always try to find time to spend some quality time with myself. For me personally, I feel it gives me time to reflect, rest, refresh and renew my mind and spirit. Way back when I started having me time I felt guilty and selfish, but I eventually realised that I give so much of myself to others that at times I would feel burnt out. So spending that time with myself gave me a renewed energy to face life. I go out on long walks at the beach, I read some inspiring books or go for a facial, pedicure and manicure. The list of activities is endless. Anything I find of interest at that particular point, I make sure I find time and do it. Do you ever spend time with yourself and if you do what do you enjoy doing?

I take care of my 94 yr old mom 24/7 so finding me time can sometimes be difficult. However, I do try to squeeze in some "me time" or else I'd probably lose my mind

That me time can be a lifesaver. That is why I was so grateful to Joanne for getting me a table to create my own sewing corner....my oasis, even if only for a few minutes at a time.

Family is everything. Sometimes circumstances prevent us from having time for ourselves. Your mom needs you more and I am glad to hear you take care of her because placing elders in old age homes sometimes they get abused there.

@Mbalie No one will get ever to know herself/himself completely. Not even the moment, he/she will about to die.

The time that I have is little but it is always first thing in the morning before the day of worry begins. It is very important to have this time, as one cannot help another human being without rest themselves.

You are totally right. One can only give of themselves if they are feeling whole.

My 'Me' time is on the computer. I love spending it with everyone on myLot. I also play games, and work on my novel.

Me time is in short supply at my house. I look for little five minute escapes.

Great ways to keep yourself engaged. Of course I do keep a time for myself or as you said "me" time. I usually prefer reading novels, sometimes walking silently. I also do shopping to buy few things. The last one is my wife's idea which she calls Self Indulgement and I also liked it.

I am alone by myself most of the time, but that does not count as me time. I am trying to do more things just because i want to do them. I think it is a good idea.

The best is to have a balanced life. No point giving so much to others and leave nothing for yourself. I think you have to save up for old age too. There is no need to rely on children if you have your own money.

My 'me' time is making jewelry or being here on MyLot. It is not a relaxing 'me' time, more a creative one. I would enjoy a walk along the beach too, maybe I should put that in my NY schedule.

You shouldn't feel guilty and selfish. We all ned some time to be alone and relax. Get to know ourselves. You're being selfish to yourself if you're not giving yourself the privilege to have some alone time. I'm glad you're having some quality time for yourself now.

Even when I was a little girl, I always had time for myself. To this day, I still have "ME" time. I especially enjoy reading, shopping, spa treatments, and all things beautifying and pretty.

Eyebrows done. Apply make- up and take a selfie. play games. Watch a love movie (as i eat)..(&tear up) lol

Self-replenishment is necessary, otherwise everything around us will seem monotonous and boring. I like to read stories, do mylot and plan ahead with collecting whatever materials are necessary. They put in me a renewed vigour to do my work.

I make a point of having some nice quiet time to myself. It is easy for me now since there is just my husband and me. We each have some things we do on our own.

I like to be alone at times but never feel lonely as I think about life in general. I appreciate all need the time for themselves, as we are distracted otherwise, to pause and ponder - siva
