Typos

typos, writing, correcting

Everyday when I write a discussion, I always double check it for typos. Most of the time it's okay but there are times when I have to go back and correct words. But for some reason, it seems like whenever I comment or reply to a comment, I seem to have a lot of typos. Typos that I don't catch until I am working on notifications and I read my previous comment. I know we all make them from time to time but it's kind of embarrassing. I guess I get in a hurry and don't proofread. Whenever I do catch it, I quickly correct it. I guess better late than never. Whenever you see a typo that you have made, do you correct it or just leave it alone?

I cannot leave a typo once I see it! My backspace/delete key is probably the most used key on my keyboard. I will also edit my posts compulsively if I spot a typo once it's posted, even if I posted it many days or weeks ago!

You sound exactly like me. It will drive me crazy if I see a typo and don't fix it right away.

You can go back and edit those comments if you want to fix your typos. I try to read what i write before posting but i usually don't make alot of typos

You are lucky not to make many typos. I'm sure I make at least one a day and it's usually when I am in a hurry. I always correct it when I notice it.

@simone10 I have actually gone back and corrected quite few these last couple of day. I am trying to be much more careful. But, we are only human and everyone makes mistakes.

If I see a typo I correct it. I even inform people when I see a typo in their text or titles.

That's good that you do that as I would want to know if I made a typo and didn't catch it.

I like when people point out that I have a typo but some people get offended by it

@whiteream I know, some people take this as a personal offense, I cannot understand why, we can all make a mistake while typing.

Correct it as soon as possible even in comments. It's an irritating factor for me.

I find it that way too. I've tried not to correct but I end up doing it anyway.

I always correct them. It's very easy though to read over something multiple times and still overlook typos. Our brains often filter out errors and make stuff look ok, even though it's not!

I agree, it is easy to overlook typos, especially when reading over it several times.

I get a little embarrassed too, especially when I use words such as fell and feel. I know the difference in the two words but for some reason my fingers want to type fell when I mean feel.

I miss quite a few, more often in comments than articles as I spell-check those while leaving shorter comments to be read with my own eyes but it is easy to overlook errors - once spotted I always fix the errors on sight.

I always edit things but sometimes I miss an error. I always go back and put it right perhaps because I was a legal typist and mistakes were not tolerated. Old habits die hard.

I seem to be making more lately. Maybe it's because I am on here early in the morning and not yet awake.

I think we all do it, and yes - I always correct it whenever I see it. What I can't understand is typos in the title of an article - that should stand out a mile.

You would think so, wouldn't you? I guess people get in a hurry and don't catch it until it's brought to their attention.

Always correcting it.....can't stand these errors. Though I make them a lot. It's normal, because we aren't expert proofreaders.

I correct my errors when I see them. Sometimes when I read some of my comments or responses I notice some grammar mistakes I have made. My English is improving everyday though.

I do correct my errors in spelling. Sometimes, though I'm not fluent in English, I correct my grammar. But i notice that some members here just don't mind of the readability of their posts, be it a discussion or comment. Wrong spellings like missing letter or swapped letters and still they continue to posts it. It just annoys me

I don't get annoyed by others errors as we are all human and make mistakes. I am more concerned about my own errors.
