Does it ever end, It seems like I just get it finished and I have to start over again. I have a two story house, when the upstairs gets cleaned I go downstairs ,, by the time downstairs is done I have to go back upstairs. And why does it seem that whenever you slack off and maybe let the dishes pile or you don't sweep the floor, someone pops over, when the house is clean you never see anyone???

Nope, that's why the saying goes, "A woman's work is never done!"... and it's so true : )

ooohhhh how true that statement is. The other day, I worked outside all day with my husband, then we came in, the dog tracked mud all over the floor, he helped me clean her but then i had to sweep and wash the floor and then cook supper. by the time I got to bed that night i was exhausted.

No, I don't think it does ever end, especially if you have kids. If one lives alone, then the housework is not as all consuming, but with a bunch of people running around there is always something to do. I only have 2 kids and I feel that way. I cannot imagine how it is with people who have large families. I guess they have to make the kids do a lot of work. :)

hey your lucky i have 4 stories! granted our main living area is only on 2 levels my kids use the full size finished attic as a play room and my basement is full of laundry. i understand what you mean. i loved this house when i bought it i just didnt relize that it would be soooo much to clean. i get the kitchen done then its the living room then back to the kitchen in between i do the 4 bedrooms. and yes guests do always stop by when the house is a mess.

omg 4 stories,, yikes I'd never get it clean.. I loved my house to when I saw it but never thought about how long it would take to clean. I see all these huge homes going up and all I can think about is whoa I'd hate to clean that. If we ever move it's going to be a small bungalow with a finished basement, I'm getting too old to clean, lol

I have NEVER been able to keep the upstairs and downstairs clean at the same time. I think it has to do with messy people that inhabit this place. You would think a husband and a 26 year old son could keep up after themselves. My Grandma told me to train my husband. I should have listened to her.

During the week, the only mess I ever have to face is the one I might leave behind. But on the weekends I often have friends stay over, so I know your pain and sympathize with you. It' s just a big pain in the azz to have to clean up behind other people, ESPECIALLY other adults. I hope when I marry one day that she is a neat person.

I was thinking about asking that same question today. It seems..no matter how much time i clean, this place is always messy. I have my 24 yr old husband, my 1 yr old boy, and my 31 yr old brother in law living with me...i can't seem to keep up with them. I cleaned all day today, and it barely looks like anything is done. Its a never ending job. Too bad we arent getting paid for it, we would be rich.

good question!
Ya, it seems it never ends for me.
My friend once said to me "why clean daily, the dirt will be there tomorrow, just more of it!"

Oh how I can relate to you!! I have four kids and it seems that the laundry and the dishes are the worst! I jokingly tell visitors that my maid quit. (no, I don't have one and haven't had one!) I have also made peace with myself as far as having to have a neat as a pin house for company because if someone has simply dropped by to see my house instead of me, well..... I like to think of a person as being more than a cluttered house. :)

It is so true, I am always cleaning up constantly, It just never ends, I do laundry ALL the time, and then when I think I am threw with it, IT starts to pile up again, I try to make it a habit to have my kitchen cleaned before I go to bed every night and that is the only place that seems to stay clean most of the time. I am constantly spring cleaning too, now that we are moving again it is just nuts!!
Can not wait to finally be settled
