Even if in the morning we forget, we all dream while we are asleep. It can be intriguing and interesting to know, that people across the world have similar recurrent dreams. This is a small list of the most common dreams and their meanings. Falling No matter if falling from a stair, a chair or from the top of a mountain, the dream means that you are losing control over a situation. Find the problem and fix it. Being chased Sometimes this dream turns into a nightmare if you feel your life is in danger. The interpretation suggests that we are running away from a situation. Naked Being naked in public in a dream, only means that we feel vulnerable and need protection. Do you ever had such kind of dreams? I remember that I had a dream where I was falling from a very long stair.

Being chased was what I dreamed a few nights ago, I was running so fast that when I woke my heat beat up up and going crazy. I am cursed because I can remember so many of my sleeping dreams. I wished I didn`t.

Usually the dreams that we can remember perfectly are those that have some meaning for us @andriaperry What I do when I do have such a dream I write it down in my daily journal for later consideration. I have some of them all ready and guess what? they can be great for discussion on posts as well. Still haven't written about any of them but I will.

@RasmaSandra I had many "premonitory" dreams, what I saw in my dreams really happened, sometimes only after a few days, others after months.

@LadyDuck There are so many dream interpreters and each one of them interpret them differently. Best is not to bother about them.

I know that some dreams are "premonitions", I had premonitory dreams in the past and I would be happy to have no more.

I attach no meaning too to dreams, but I certainly look for meaning. What that means is that I take the dream as it is no matter how weird and record it down, without attaching meaning or anything else to it, and then I try to see any connections that are sticking out for me to see. Correct dream interpretation for an individual dreamer is always only ever completely possible for that particular dreamer. Real meaning will nearly always only come out from its hiding place behind the dreamer's own life philosophies and beliefs. This will happen if the dreamer begins to start to examine their own life and beliefs and then compare themselves as they are now, with the person who they are being within their dreams. Therefore two or more people interpreting the same type of dream will nearly always give their own individualistic interpretations of it according to their own truths, beliefs and systems of thinking, such as held within their own religious.

I fell off a cliff and hit the bottom. Then the dream replayed me hitting the bottom in slow motion. It wasn't a very nice dream. And the splatter effect was gross too.

@LadyDuck There was a group opinion that you die when you hit the bottom (in real life) but I have met others that hit it too. It's probably the same people who say you can't read in your dreams. I certainly have to read things all the time in dreams!

I feel so bad when I wake up while I am having a nightmare. I had a weird dream just last night. Our house suddenly grew of one floor during the night and the environment around was no more the same. Instead of hills and mountains I saw water. I was scared.

I rarely dream these days. The only recurring dream I ever had was about a building and the lives of the people that were in that building. I knew how to get to the building, but just did not know where it was. Last November I actually wrote a novel that was the story of this building, including the time when the SS storm troopers invaded the building.

@LadyDuck Last November I wrote a novel (during NaNoWriMo month), which encompassed that dream. I had not had the dream for ten years, but once it was written down I had another dream of the building from which I got the sensation of the building thanking me for telling the story.

@innertalks This is very interesting. I do not believe that the three serial dreams have a common connotation. Using not finding a toilet is a sign of frustration, or the need of something that we consider basic in our life.

@LadyDuck that's very interesting. Serial dreams, I have theme dreams where the same theme comes up repeatedly. I am in an office, or a train, or often I am looking for a toilet, of all things. These three themes are constantly being repeated for me. Usually in the office there is no work for me to do, in the train dreams, I have often forgotten to buy a ticket, and I am worrying about this. In the toilet dream, I can never find a clean one or an unoccupied one.

I don't believe we can always put meaning and definition on what we dream. I was shot in the head by a bullet in one dream. I felt and heard it. I'm still more inclined to believe that dreams are often someone else's real life.

I also do not believe that we can put meanings and I do not know if they are someone else's real life. I had lucid dreams and I saw in my dreams really happened later in my life. I am not so happy to have this "gift" because I fear to dream.

Maybe, this might be true, but usually they are I think about some aspect of your own life. Being shot might be referring to something else. It is such a strong powerful thing to happen to you, that maybe it has some meaning for you in it too.

What could dying in a dream mean, or being shot? Literally this never means that you will die, I think. It means that you must die to some belief or thought that is currently restricting or holding you back in your life in some way, or another, I suspect.

The recurring dream I always have is getting news that I never finished all of my classes at the university to get my degree. In the dreams, I always have to go back to school to finish one class. It's always a bad dream, because I'm always panicking about how I'm going to go back to school and still keep my job at the same time. It's a dream I've been having for a good 20 years now! lol

A painting of a dream of Joseph by Rembrant
I think that dreams are related in some way to our physical body. If I have a headache, I do not remember my dreams so easily then, and since I have had my dry eyes problem, maybe my rem sleep has decreased in amount too, I do not seem to be dreaming as much as I did before. Also since I am taking my duodart medication for my prostate problem, my dreams seem to have been lessened too. I seem to have lost some vital connection to my dreams,or a vital link seems to have gone from my brain, as a result of me taking these tablets. What are dreams really for though? Dreams live in three realms as do most things equated with life, God, and the inner worlds. Dreams are sometimes physical in their outer linkage, and sometimes they are caused by this driver. Your inner life creates more dreams for you too, and sometimes God, or one of his allies, talks to you through a dream, or though such a dream figure, or personality, or soul, or even from your own higher self, some type of guidance is often being given to you, in your dreams, I believe. Your physical conditions will affect your dream recall, but then if a message must get through, other avenues will usually be opened for you to allow these messages to come through to you, and so we should stay open in our awareness for these.

I agree, the stress, the pain, something that makes us feel angry or anxious can affect our dreams. I am still surprised by very lucid dreams where you see exactly what will eventually happen in real life. Once I had a dream that the car of one of my friend was stolen. He saw the thief from the window, rushed in the street trying to chase the thief, but he was unable to catch him... it happened one week after I had the dram. Exactly the same scene that I saw in my dream, just like a movie.

@LadyDuck That's really amazing, that dream of yours. I don't recall ever having a prophetic dream like that, although I did see a tombstone once with my own name on it, and a date in the future, but I didn't die at that predicted time, so it must have meant something else for me.

My own dreams are very similar to life events, working in the office, reading a book in a library, talking with my Dad, taking a train ride, but then I do have some that are based around other worldly themes too at times. Everything connects to everything else I think.
