So cold I am afraid to go outside

I keep asking myself, why do I continue to live in one of the coldest places on earth? Why don't I move to a different province or country where the weather is more temperate? I ask myself but I have no answers. For the last three days it has plunged to below -40 Celsius with the wind chill. My fingers and toes freeze in seconds even with mitts, boots and all the other cold weather accessories. I stay indoors and watch marathon Christmas movies and cooking shows. Dreaming of a green Christmas.

Yes, it is so cold. If you put on more coats and have more activities when you go out, then it is not so terrible. When you feel froze, you can still go indoors and get warm soon. Perhaps you don't know how much excited for me to see the snow

With extreme temperatures like these we are advised to stay out of the cold and limit outdoor activities. However, when it is cold but not extreme, it is fun to do activities outside.

Better to be careful than suffer the results of a fall which might spoil your New Year. I remember very cold weather when I lived in Sweden many years ago. Now I live in Greece and the heavy fall we had just after Christmas began to melt almost immediately. So we had the beautiful snow but the long inconvenience of it. Our Christmas was green and then white! It is green again now with more white promised...

@Freelanzer Every 7 years we get a true Canadian winter, and I think that this is going to be the year for that. But don't fret, spring will seem all that much more glorious.

We had such a warm fall until now that I thought for sure Mother Nature was playing tricks then.

Mysteriously, -40º Celsius is the same as -40º Fahrenheit. That is cold. It's been cold here, too, but it's starting to warm up. By Tuesday we are supposed to have a rain/snow mix–this after -23º C yesterday morning.
