Have you ever seen the Rain?

Coming down on a Sunny day . . . that's how my day started. A M&M rendition of the CCR (Credence Clear-water Revival) "Have you ever seen the rain" Africa is wet! Its been raining for three days continuously and if I was not the wise woman I am, I would say that the UK has befallen us! It was nice to leave the house and do a little shopping however the cars are just maniacs in this weather and especially the MEN who drive the Bigger cars - I was pavement splashed a few times! My picture is of a wall mural that my daughter had in her apartment . . . sadly it will come down this evening as she is moving into a new place with her partner. I am not sure how I fell about it all . . and while I searced for the right words to describe my thoughts, I came across this quote: "“There’s a trick to the 'graceful exit.' It begins with the vision to recognize when a job, a life stage, or a relationship is over — and let it go. It means leaving what’s over without denying its validity or its past importance to our lives. It involves a sense of future, a belief that every exit line is an entry, that we are moving up, rather than out.” ~ Ellen Goodman

Great song but what hit me between the eyes was 'leaving what’s over without denying its validity or its past importance'. I really need to remember that. :)

A thought provoking quote. It is supposed to rain today after several days of unseasonably warm weather. It certainly doesn't feel like February.

It's been raining off and on here but I've been watching the flooding in California as my son just moved to that area. They have been awash since he arrived three weeks ago. The term Sunny California doesn't mean a thing to him...yet. Wait until summer. There will be a bit of culture shock.

Have I ever seen the rain? Is this a joke Lany? I have to confess that I have not seen the rain for almost a hour now, but I can remember it clearly. Rain on a sunny day always surprises me because it defies logic. Rain requires clouds, but with clouds it will not be sunny. Nevertheless it does happen at times.

Here is another quote for you Lany, from the Dalai Lama "Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back to and reasons to stay". My daughter sent that to me, and said that is exactly what I'd done for her.

@Inlemay You are welcome Lany. Here's another one "He who binds to himself a joy, does the winged life destroy" - I think that's William Blake.

We are not there yet but we know that day will come for us in the future and we too will feel a little lost. In our case we plan to just let them know that they can always come home if things don't work out they don't need to call just come back open the door and go set up your old room.

@inlemay A daughter moving out is traumatic. My wife suffers severely from empty nest syndrome and there is no cure.

no cure at all - Once my heart was full of the joys of my children, as they leave they take some of my heart with them and start their own joys in their hearts, but I wish them well and if everyone can have a wonderful and blessed life like me, my cup should runneth over - however my cup is drying out.

What a delightful and poignant thought by Ellen Goodman. Hopefully it will give some hope and peace for the future and not to dwell on the past. Move on and enjoy the unknown!

Three days ago... If I can remember it correctly. It is getting hotter in this time. I think that mural is cute... Simple but relaxing. God bless.

So many songs about the rain, among my favorite a very old one "Just Walking In The Rain" by Johnnie Ray. There is nothing we can do but let it go and go on.
