It's the last day of the school year: Hello, summer break!

And I'm both excited and anxious for this super long summer vacation that my kids are going to get. Because their school will start classes for the next school year in July instead of June, my girls will have 3 1/2 months of vacation. While that time frame can be easily consumed by lazy grownups, it isn't the case for my active kids. They get bored really easily and will always look for something "new."
Aside from the usual dance and swim lessons, I will have to develop a summer program that also involves household chores, gardening, and academic exercises (for reinforcement). This time I might also get the kids involved in my canvas bag business. Let's see!
How do you keep your kids busy during summer break?

All my kids learned martial arts and swimming during summers while they were growing up, my eldest also learned to play the guitar. Our church also has summer activities for the kids like DBVS or daily bible vacation school and Christian youth camps.

That's great! My kids did swimming last summer and they want to have lessons again. I think they enjoy swimming more than dance lessons.

Ah, school break. Many really look forward to this and spending time with their children. Others dread it and don't want summer break to happen.
There are many things here to keep the kids busy.

You have certainly planned well to keep the kids busy. I am a foster parent to many children. While I use many of the things you have mentioned above to keep them occupied, I also organize a summer camp for them. For this I usually take them out of the house and involve them in different interesting activities.

I hope to be able to bring the kids outdoors on good weather. Summer is awfully hot here in the Philippines and the heat can be quite debilitating. Perhaps the end of May would be a good time. Thanks!

That's so kind of you. Kids remember the kindness of adults, especially during fun times!
