What is your position on smoking?

How do you feel about smoking? I am an ex-smoker. I started trying to quit when I was 23. I just recently was able to make it happen. I feel that smoking was the dumbest choice I ever made and I had to fight so hard to quit. Let me hear your opinion. Do you enjoy smoking? Hate it? Are you disgusted by those who smoke around you?

I hope to quit before summer. It's hard.

@teamfreak16 Good luck! I read once that sitting in a sauna helps. Apparently going in for a bit during 3 days will help get rid of the toxins that make you want a cig.

I smoked for 50 years and quit. Up to now, I consider myself a smoker who is not smoking so I will not even touch a ciggie. When I was young, it was considered "in" to smoke. All the movie stars smoked in the films and they were more sexy for that. There wasnt any way of knowing how bad smoking was for our health. I enjoyed smoking for some years and then, when I knew how bad it was, I smoked with guilt for some years until I finally quit.

I think no one has the right to judge what others do so I try not to do that. To each his own. Congrats on quitting!

I think it is a choice not or to smoke. It is a good thing you were able to stop smoking.

It is a dumb choice and very sorry to see young people do it. However, it is a choice that is allowed. Maybe it should it should be illegal if under 40? Ha, ha-that won't happen. We do not allow smoking in our home or on our land.

I've never smoked in my life, but people have always smoked around me and I hate it. The smell is awful, and if I dont want to smoke myself, then no I don't want you smoking near me and giving me second hand smoke. But people can do whatever they want for them.

I never took up smoking when I was young but I love standing next to a smoker and 'passive smoking'. I think I would have found it very hard to give up. I think you've done very well to give up. Good on you.

I've never liked the smell of smoke, so I've never done it. Many of my friends used to smoke and I dated one guy who smoked. It got to the point where I hated kissing him because of the smoke smell and taste. So now I just avoid smoke as much as I can. I live in a building that doesn't allow smoke, however, when I walk down the hallway, I can smell it, so I know that other people are smoking in their apartments. I'm just glad I can't smell it inside my own apartment!

I don't smoke. I don't mind if people smoke, unless they do it in front of me.

I do not like to smoke nor wish any of my family to continue smoking, but its their choice at the end and I hope smokers just respect out choice
