Is poverty root cause of all evils?

It has been wisely said that "The love of money is the root of all evil." It seems that you are making the classic mistake of equating poverty with a lack of money (and therefore to a supposed need for it). Poverty cannot simply be solved by giving poor people money or by buying things for the poor. If you think that, then you know nothing about poverty. It is not poverty which is the cause of the things you mention, it is greed and the love of money. You may reason that it's the poor who are the most likely to love and desire money but this is NOT true. It is those who have a taste for money and want more without doing too much work for it who are most likely to turn to crime in order to get it.

Not everyone who is poor resorts to crime, but poverty does play a role.

Poverty plays a part yes, but there are poor people who do not resort to crime.
