My nephew and I were just wandering around the University ground when we spotted the statue of a carabao with wings!
He shouted its carabasus! I didn't get it.
He said "We call the divine winged horse Pegasus so why not call that one Carabasus? ".
I'm still figuring out how teenager's brain works but I guess he got me at that one time.
A carabao is a water buffalo. Of course, they don't have wings for real. Here, they are commonly seen in rice paddies helping the farmers to till the land for the next planting season of rice.
Any suggestion what this creature could be called if it exist?

@HAPPSINGH Hi! It's just now i have the time here. The whole day was busy. We practiceds at our HS auditorium to see how we will be positioning everyone there. At 12 :00 we stopped and ate at a local Eat all You Can Restaurant..Then , we all each wentur ways. I shopped for our costume. When I came back home, i rested then , cleaned our bedroom, changed he beddings and dusted the elctric fans. It's just now, i have finished and taken a bath. Relaxing now.

@diosabella haha yes. A pity. Is there any legends behind this flying carabao?
@HAPPSINGH good that you are a devil. You won't be able to fly else you would have tried to flirt with the angels

Maybe so. Its in front of SEARCA. An apt statue Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) because carabao is the main animal we use in farming. And maybe putting a pair of wings will make the project soar. Just my way of thinking. But then it looks magical in some way too.

It's the first time I've seen a statue of a carabao with wings lol! I remember my grade school classmate who was actually born and Nigeria and came back in the Phil when she was 8. The first time she saw a carabao she shouted with glee and said, "A horse with a horn!"

@diosabella I was amazed by the albino carabao's too. They just looked so clean, unlike the normal ones.

Yeah me too. And I live here all my life.
Your classmate was funny. But then, when I was small too and I saw a white carabao (albino buffalo) and called it american carabao! All the planters laugh at me.

@toniganzon When I was little they were plenty but now I haven't seen one in a long time. I also tried riding one. But I just can't with the normal ones.

that is great for your nephew to term the carabao as carabasus. if ever there is a beast of burden like this, then the rice fields should be done fast-the carabao flies after all!

No need for expensive tractors anymore. But I wonder what the farmers would feel a mythical creature like the carabasus.

Yup. He's fifteen now. I'm just glad he's not so complicated.
And no. I'm not a young girl. Just young at heart.

I think you can suggest more apt name than mutant carabao. Don't be shy! Be creative!

He is. He was so happy when he posted it in his instagram and a lot of people liked it.
I think if carabasus existed, he will be the mythical hero beast that defend the oppressed buffalos.

I like the statue. I didn't know those animals were water buffalo. I thought they were cattle... I like nephew's suggestion, or buffasus :-)

My nephew said he liked your suggestion too.
Usually the water buffalo can be found dipping in the swampy part of a rice field getting themselves cool off from the hot sun.
