Recording television shows

My husband and I keep busy and we record all the shows we like during the day and will watch them when we have time. It is a great system, especially since a lot have been on before. Sometimes while watching a show, my husband will ask me if we saw it already. He doesn't seem to remember things he has seen or not. I can usually tell within the first few minutes it is on, but not him. I think this is kind of weird.

I can tell pretty quickly, too but sometimes I don't mind watching something I've seen before, especially if it's an episode of a show I really enjoy. Interesting that he doesn't seem to know the difference.

I guess he has a lot on his mind, like living with me.

My husband is the same way and if he does not remember seeing the show I let him watch it again. It does not matter.

Sometimes if I do not want to see the show again I tell him we saw it but if I liked it I say we didn't see it.

Vince is the same. I think we probably all vary in this regard. Vince often gets nearly to the end of a book before realising he has read it before.

Why is that. I guess their minds are drifting some place else.

Years ago, I recorded TV shows - but now I don't have the time to do it.

It doesn't take any time as they record when we are busy or out of the house.

This is very interesting. There seems to be a lot of complicity in your relationship!

I do feel unforgettable sometimes especially if I am pre-occupied.

Don't we all. That is because we have so much on our minds.

My husband has almost 30 years worth of recorded movies and TV shows. Yep. That's how long he's been recording stuff from television.

@ramapo17 - Oh yes. Some he re-watches. Some he records over shows because he found something else. Sometimes he finds a clearer picture and he will re-tape over the older picture. It's his hobby. We bought our first VCR in 1987 and the man went nuts! He's been crazy recording stuff ever since.

@cmoneyspinner We have the DVR right in our cable box and there are no limits that we can record, at least I don't think so. When we go away and come back we spend days watching everything. We have it set up to record the same shows everyday so we do not have to put them in the system again. The movies that are on every so often we record the actual date of it.

Does he ever go back and watch them?
