Do you go to the movie theater?

I have a confession to make. I haven't been to the movie theater since 2015. The last movie I saw in a theater was Fifty Shades of Grey. I was reading the book at the time and wanted to see the movie. Aside from that, I don't go to the theater that much. The main reason is that it's gotten too expensive to go to the movies. Plus, most of the movies Hollywood makes these days I don't care for anyway. Even if there is an interesting movie that comes out, I just wait a couple of months until it's available on DVD or airs on HBO to watch it. Do you still go to the movie theater?

Here , in West Bengal, India, I do. I try to closely follow two or three directors' work.

I go to the movies when I´m invited. So I usually go 2 or 3 times a year and one of them is a movie for children as my daughter invites me with my youngest granddaughter.

@dramagirl26 I confess that I have grown addicted to Netflix. New movies are not very good. I do see classic movies at my daughter´s house though. My SIL has a good collection of them.

@dramagirl26 This past winter I needed something to do while they plowed the parking lot, so I went to the theater. Thankfully, there were some good movies playing that I wanted to see. Since the snow is now turned to rain, I'm just waiting for those movies I've wanted to see to come out on DVD.

You won't believe that I have not visited a theatre since 2004 That's because I really don't like to.

To be honest I watch most of the movies online. It is becausw i have time constraints and as you say they are expensive. Whether you are watching it at home or the cinema I consider it the same thing as long as i enjoy the movie

2015? I have you by 28 years. The last movie I saw in a theater was Swimming to Cambodia, a Spalding Gray monologue movie. That was 1987.

@dramagirl26 -- lots of reasons. One, I'm on my way to a concert, and the ticket was less than a movie's. I don't care for the lack of originality in Hokeywood. And, I'm generally not a big movie person. I'm more of the Turner Classic channel fan.

It is still nice to see a great movie in theater but comparing it when you are reading it in a book, for me it is far better reading it..

I used to as we had a beautiful little theater here, cheap seats $5! Of course it closed. Now I find many movies too expensive, too. I can wait to rent them. It's a shame though.
