My husband has been craving canned mackerel for over a month now. It tool a while for me to stock up on our favorite brand. And when i finally spotted Saba mackerel at the hypermarket, I grabbed a small can and made a mental note to cook it for breakfast soon. This morning I made sauteed Saba mackerel. I just added the usual ingredients - garlic, onions, tomatoes ans finger chilis. Salt and pepper to taste. Served with steamed rice. The husband liked it so much. :)

That sounds like a very filling breakfast! I was just thinking that I don't ever remember seeing canned mackerel here. I don't cook with a lot of fish because we have allergies here. But I really don't know if it's available...

We make do with canned mackerel because we don't easily get fresh mackerel from the market. We are rethinking seafood consumption as well due to allergies but we do eat fish every now and again as alternative to meat and poultry.
