Are You A Junk-Food Junkie?
The Junk Food Industry is a Trillion Dollar Industry. It thrives here in the USA, that’s for sure. People eat on the run. They snack in front of the TV. At movies.
There is no end to the number of snack food varieties. The grocery stores usually have two or three aisles of snack food to choose from.
Of course, everyone likes a snack once in a while, but some persons I know, practically live on snack food and fast-food restaurant food.
Many single persons, for example, don’t know how to actually cook a meal, so they purchase frozen meals that they can put in the microwave, and they eat snack food or eat out for every meal.
Just reading the ingredients on some frozen meal choices and snack food should warn a person of the unhealthiness of this kind of food.
No wonder cancer and heart attack rates are skyrocketing.
What do you think?

Guilty, and I take note to watch consumption. Why are most things that taste so good, so bad for you? I eat at a fast food place maybe once every six months unless traveling. The hard part is eating cookies etc at home in moderation.

I don't like any kind of store-bought cookies. I've tried several but they just don't taste good to me. I like to make my own cookies occasionally. Oatmeal raisin is my favorite. If I make them, I know they don't have any preservatives or anything bad except the sugar. The oatmeal and raisins are healthy enough. And I use olive oil.

I think eating in moderation is the key, anything you eat.

I know plenty of people who have always ate snacks, frozen foods, and fast food and never had a health problem in their lives.
I use to eat snacks at least 3 times a day. And fast food at least 4 days a week. Nothing happened to me either. Not even weight gain.
I think its more the bodies, than the food.

How old are you? You don't know what damage you MIGHT have done. Just be careful. Many health issues don't show up until later in life.

@Courtlynn At 24, your body hasn't even begun to react to any unhealthy eating habits you may have YET. Your liver and kidneys may be working overtime to assimilate all the preservatives and chemicals that you might be putting into your body right now. Those organs are there to take care of your body, but after years of working overtime they can begin to break down. In fact, that's EXACTLY what happens without us realizing that it is even happening.
Do some research on what preservatives can cause. You may THINK there is no harm happening but don't be fooled.

Yes, cancer can be caused by other malfunctions of the body. We breathe polluted air and are exposed to many other things that can cause cancer.

Yes I love to have junk food sometimes. When I have a craving I have burgers, sausages, pizza, french fries etc. I mostly try to avoid having it. But sometimes we feel to have something else other than the normal food, those days I have junk food. I also love cheese balls.

Try to limit junk food in your diet. It's better to eat lots of vegetables, but once in a while we all want a snack or some junk food. I understand what your saying.

I've never tried the frozen Indian and Chinese food from Trader Joe's. I guess I need to try it. I especially like Chinese food. I have not eaten very much Indian food. I can't remember the last time I have eaten it. Years ago.

I used to consume a lot of junk food. I began to ditch the habit when i became pregnant. I still do eat chips every now and then but not as often as i used to. My kids are not so into it either, thank God!

Yes, take it easy on potato chips and similar snacks and its good that you don't give them to your children either.

Although my cholesterol levels and overall health is very good, I do eat junk food. Usually on the weekends when watching sports programs. A bad habit I got into. It is a never ending tug of war with me that I don't always win. As mentioned, an occasional snack is ok, just keep it in moderation like many things in life..

Yes, moderation is the KEY. Almost everyone likes to eat junk food. The junk food industry is thriving. The amount of junk food that is sold is mind-boggling. I had some statistics a couple years ago and I was astounded at the amount of junk food that is sold every day. There are MORE shelves in ANY food store for junk food than any other item. It's ridiculous!
As I said, no wonder, there is so much heart disease and cancer and diabetes.

@IreneVincent That is so true and it is deliberately situated in the store so one easily comes across it! Many overweight people can attribute their condition to sweets and junk food
