HOW DO YOU SLEEP?

Are you a light sleeper or a deep one? Are you the kind of sleeper who tosses and turns while sleeping or stays quietly in one corner of the bed. ? I am a very light sleeper - the slightest sound will get me up. I am not sure about the tossing and turning, -usually I sleep on one side of the bed, but occasionally I would awaken to find one of my pillows on the floor. So , what kind of sleeper are you? Have you ever knocked someone off the bed while deep in sleep?

Things have changed for me regarding sleep. These days I feel that I sleep heavier when I do sleep due to the fact that I toss and turn a lot. So on the rare occasion when I fall into deep slumber, I do sleep heavily. I used to be a very light sleeper, but due to medicines, that has changed.

Medicines do alter one's sleep pattern. Some keep you awake, while others work like a sleeping pill.

I am a pretty light sleeper as well and if I wake, it hard to get back to sleep. I have not (yet) pushed someone off the bed.

The possibility is still there. Sometimes I get back to sleep easily and sometimes I don't - then I might lie in bed and watch a movie.

I am a light sleeper too. I turn and toss a lot at night. Ever since we had a burglary in our house I would say that i am always afraid and maybe this is the reason that i cant have a deep sleep

@Nawsheen I think you are unnecessarily feeling scared. On your part, you could take best precautions and could use heavy locks and alarms, in case someone tries to break in. Don't you have night watchman and street dogs in your area?

I'm usually a light sleeper where if a door is open or a dog barks from a different part of the house I wake up. Or even if my boyfriend gets up in the middle of the night I'll wake up. If I'm on the bed alone i toss and turn if my boyfriend is still in bed then i stay in one spot

Even though I am a light sleeper I find that my sleep is usually restful. However, lately our dog Lion has picked up this habit of barking loudly at night, which is very annoying for a light sleeper.

I am a light sleeper. Actually, I have been sleeping alone on my bed since my sisters got married. I know I don't toss around when sleeping but whenever there is someone sleeping beside me, that is the time that I toss and keep on turning. It seems like I do not like to share my bed with anyone.

@Kandae11 I wonder what if after we get married. Our husbands will be very poor creatures. They might be the one who will suffer when they share the bed with us.

I don't like sharing either. The only other 'person' on my bed is a big teddy bear, that my mother gave me many years ago. Apart from that - I feel sooo very comfortable with me and my pillows.

I am a very light sleeper. I sleep on the corner of the bed, trying not to disturb my husband who sleeps very little. I wake up several times during the night, but I try to avoid to turn and toss.

If I wake up and can't get back to sleep. I would turn on the television and watch a movie, sometimes with the sound off. One would think there is a sleeping person lying next to me - which is never the case.

According to my Fitbit, I sleep fitfully the first hour, but I always thought I slept like a log. I blame it on being aware of the fact that Doodles sleeps at the foot of my mattress. I don't want to kick him to the floor.

I haven't knocked anyone out of bed, but I got knocked out of bed. I'm a tosser and a hard sleeper for the most part. There are certain sounds that will wake me - the phone and my children when they were little. Other than that I sleep through everything.

I think maybe, the fire alarm would awaken my son - he is a very deep sleeper, while the slightest sound gets me up. I don't suppose it is any fun getting knocked out of bed.

Since moving here I sleep good, unless something makes the dogs bark. I am sure I toss and turn. I also sleep talk and sleep walk, not as bad as I did when I was a child but I still do at times.

It is much easier when you develop a pattern.
@Kandae11 (55131)
7 Jun 17
@Margaret29 I know what you mean - circumstances can change that pattern.
7 Jun 17
@Kandae11 very true. ..but it is difficult to follow the pattern. For example I try to sleep at the same time, but there will some work unexpectedly being a mother...

I am a bit of a deep sleeper. Not really deep, but I guess I'm a deep sleeper since it's definitely not easy to wake me up, especially when I haven't had enough sleep. Loud sounds such as my alarm and my mother's shouts will definitely wake me up, but I won't even realize when someone opened the door to my room and take one of my snacks, which definitely sucks, but yeah. About movements while I sleep, I don't think I move that much. Even when I'm sleeping with anyone else on one bed, I've never moved away, maybe just small movements such as tilting my head or rolling to the side, but never really moved away. And what I meant by moved away is something like suddenly end up on the other side of the bed or even on the floor.

@Kandae11 That actually happened to me lol. A burglar came in to my house and almost stole a laptop when my mom screamed and my sister pulled the laptop bag from him and everyone just panicked. And yet I'm sleeping comfortably until my mom woke me up to say that there was a burglar.
