Smelling like roses

Well, Smelling Like Roses means things are sweet. However, my image is an Asiatic Lily in my garden blooming. Things are sweet because hubby is home from the hospital, with no written restrictions. He only has a little weakness on the right side. It turns out his episode was NOT a TIA or mini stroke, but was a full stroke to the left side of his brain. When you have brain damage it affects the opposite side, so he has weakness on the right side. We did discover a couple of manageable heart problems, and he will be seen by a cardiologist soon. One of those problems possibly caused the stroke. Bob plans to return to work on Monday. Both the physical therapist and the occupational therapist feel that the work he does will be therapeutic in getting his right side stronger. He is excited. He hates to not be working. Our plans are that I will go to work with him, because I can, for the first week. I will keep an eye on him for that week. I will point out that things like this can happen to anyone. He is fit, active, not a smoker, does not drink, and his cholesterol and triglycerides are excellent, yet he still had a stroke. Pay attention to your health. Take care of yourself. Know the signs of heart attack and stroke. Love you all. Thank you for the prayers and caring.

I'm so glad he's home and your home! I hope he stays in good health for a very long time now with no issues. Thank you for pointing out that he's healthy and active, most people do think it only happens to certain people.

I'm glad he's home now and able to go back to work. That's great! I'm so sorry he had a stroke. You are right, we do need to be aware of the signs for heart attack and stroke.

He feels like it may have happened because he got dehydrated. I know we all need to take good care of ourselves.

He is seventy one years old, but is looking into taking up running again. This was not caused by lifestyle factors.

Liz sent one of those send to everyone things to me in messenger yesterday. It was all about the signs of a heart attack and what to do if you are alone when you have one etc. It was long and I did read it. Good that he will be able to go back to work already. We should have figured out to put some of the apps on your smartphone and you could have scanned stuff for points while he worked when you go with him.

I had hoped to have some technology help when we did the shop hop, but did not get to it. We may make a point to come to Hutchinson soon, or Inman. We are waiting for a call back from the cardiologist right now. He has not had any "heart" signs, that we are aware of. You have a cardiologist, right?

Yes, it is really good. Not too much trouble with his hand. He wants to keep working, and I am sure I can help him achieve that goal while his hand is straggling. He sets his own hours and such so we can do this. I am glad to be able to.

Thanks for your care and concern. We honestly could not see the very first signs, but I do wish he had taken his aspirin the first time I told him to. I think I should carry some in my purse, actually. I have seen that recommended.

That is wonderful news! I am sure he will fully recover with you there to make sure. Yes I know about some of the problems that can cause a heart attack, Tony has been under the care of a heart doctor for a while, 10 years I think. He was sick last night with his.

Happy to hear he is doing fine! And also, your husband is not a smoker and does not drink but he still have a stroke? Damn, I need to start knowing the signs of stroke, not really for me since I'm still young, but for my parents since they seem like they're doing fine, which hopefully is true.

Even young people can have strokes. Take good care that you eat healthy, drink water and stay hydrated. Yes, watch and care for your parents.
