Today is the day

The doctor should be discharging me today. I am excited about going home but scared and nervous too. I'm just a huge ball of emotions this morning. Still in a fair amount of pain but that is to be expected for the next 12 weeks while the breast bone is healing. It takes a full year for it to heal as long as there are no complications. Many things can go wrong but I just have to hope and pray things will go good and that I will have a long life a head of me.

That is wonderful news Laurel. Now, you take good care of yourself, make sure you get out of the bed the way they thought you. Very important. Been there a few years ago and I know exactly how you feel. Best wishes for a steady recovery.

That's great that you have progressed enough to leave, after 2 weeks of hospitalization I'm sure that you are ready. You'll heal and rest so much better at home, although I can understand your feelings. Just try really hard to do what the doctors say and don't overdo it. Merle will be SO excited to have you back home again.

I pray that you have an easy recovery and that you are able to enjoy a long and healthy life. As scary as it must have been at least the road ahead looks bright. I'm sure you'll be happy to be back home even though you're a bit nervous.
