I Want To Rip Off My Nose and Pluck Out My Eyes

No, I'm not into harming myself per se but ripping off my nose and plucking out my eyes would probably be the only solution left for my allergies. My nose is itchy and stuffy, my eyes are itchy and watery and both are driving me crazy.
I've tried allergy medications but they only seem to work for a limited time. I don't know why but I've been suffering more this year than any other year. Maybe it's Karma from all those years I said I didn't have allergies when everyone around me was sneezing and blowing their nose.
I didn't know that you can get allergies at any age. It's bad enough I have gotten so many other ailments as I age that now I have to add allergies to the list.
I know there are other allergy sufferers so I'm not alone in that department. I'm keeping the tissue company in business that's for sure
To make the day worse they are outside mowing the lawn and stirring up all that grass and pollen. UGH
Other than that it's a good day

@Marilynda1225 Yes it is. I had hayfever. So from harvest until the first hard frost I couldn't breathe and my eyes itched unmercifully. It's no wonder I love winter so much. No allergies.

The kids and I had this problem all day yesterday! I know the air quality here was very bad (post fireworks maybe?). Plus we went to a thrift store - that often gets us too. Seems like washing your face helps, but that is temporary. Hope it goes away for you soon!!

I never thought that maybe the air quality was due to all the fireworks. Bet it has played a part in making me worse than normal

@Marilynda1225 I was thinking maybe that's why the skies were kinda hazy, grayish brown in the morning. There were a lot of fireworks going off in our area apparently. All the bbq's too!

I seem to react to certain pollens and things too..but I think when I get allergic reactions it is more to things like pet dander and dust. Most days I am fine..but when I start getting allergy attacks I am like you..in that there doesn't seem to be anything that helps that much.

Usually it isn't this bad for me but I'm ready to just try about anything to stop my eyes from watering and all that sneezing is giving me a headache

Lots of sneezes going around here also and most of them are allergies.
We are having very turbulent weather so its to be expected really.
Taking it all as it comes.
Hope it gets better soon though.

My allergies have all the symptoms of your cold. Are you sure you don't have allergies?

Allergies are pretty bad this year. They are a pain in the head. I am hoping we can all get through this season without ripping our eyes out and cutting off our noses. I hope you find something to help you. If you do, let us know, I am sure there are a lot of us who need help.

If I find something that helps I'll be sure to spread the word. For now, though, I don't have any solution

I´m sorry for your allergies. I have stuffy nose problems often too. I find that Kleenex also has a sort of paper powder that I don´t like so at home I use toilet paper for my nose. Not elegant, but better.

@Marilynda1225 Toilet paper is not something I´d take out, but it is a good helper at my night table.

Hum I never thought that maybe the Kleenex might have something that is triggering the allergies. Toilet paper may not be pretty but it certainly will help is it stops my sneezing

Yes I take an anti-histamine but it only helps for awhile

Have you tried a nasal rinse? Water and saline up one side of the nose and down the other. It helps me frequently enough to keep using it. (Oh, don't just do water and table salt, it's a little more complicated than that. There's a brand called NeilMed that is very easy to use, none of that neck gymnastics required by using a Neti pot...)
Good luck, I suffer too, so I completely empathize.

I do have a netipot and it helps a great deal. I'd probably be a walking nightmare if I didn't get some relief from using it.

I saw a piece on the news this week that they were explaining that the mold which many of us are allergic to is worse after a rain.
Regardless, I hope that you feel better, and don't tear off your nose or pluck out your eyes, we'd never recognize you. Feel better.

Maybe I have more problems with allergies since I live in the country now and am surrounded by lots of grass and trees. Mold might be an issue

@Marilynda1225 I would imagine that there are more open spaces with things growing in the country that would attribute to your mold allergy then in a city where you have asphalt. Hopefully you feel better tomorrow.

At this time of year - you must be allergic to grass pollen sine the trees bloomed long ago I have seasonal, spring and fall.
Maybe try a different med - there are so may OTC now.
