Local mom thought it was fine to tow kids with her car

This 27 year old mom named Alana was "just trying to show the kids a good time" when she put her two kids and a nephew in a red wagon and towed them around a roundabout repeatedly at five mph with her car. She "didn't understand what the problem was", she told police after numerous other drivers snapped photos and alerted authorities. She even waved other cars around her as traffic started to back up. She was not intoxicated either, just very stupid I suppose. She was arrested and faces charges of reckless endangerment. The children were left with a relative. How could any adult do such a thing? Link to story: (May have to highlight and click that url that shows the car and kids)
SPRINGFIELD — A third charge of reckless endangering has been filed against the mother accused of towing her two children behind her car on a busy Springfield road after witnesses took photographs that showed a third child had also been given a wagon ride.

@JamesHxstatic Yes they are. They have some here, but no one seems to know the correct driving sequence.

Yes, she should lose her license to drive and will be lucky to keep her children after this.

People do stupid stuff like this everyday, especially here on the river, they pull little kids on a float up and down the river behind a boat at speeds that I would not drive on the river. and boats flying past, no matter if the kids fell off, no one can see them.

This woman is fricking nuts @JamesHxstatic . What the hell is wrong with her!!!!! With the way people drive today (with their heads up their a**), it's a miracle those kids weren't crushed or something. And she sees nothing wrong with it??? Seriously???? I hope she gets some serious jail time.

It is hard to understand human mind.. This lady, am sure should be a good Mom otherwise. The question is, did she believe or did she not, that it was a dangerous thing to do. It's like those kids, who were being towed. They didn't understand that it was dangerous. One would question then why the lady, with all her experience, which the children lacked, didn't understand the implications of her actions. The only answer is with her upbringing. In a probability, she didn't develop mentally and emotionally, as she should have been.. Her psychologist can answer for this..

@JamesHxstatic... That's certain! How have the authorities reacted? If she's declared insane then she will not be punished and will be sent to an asylum or a similar institute. The psychological evaluation of this woman will play an important role at the trial. The revelation of how dangerous it was, is gonna be an eye opener for this woman.
