Homemade peanut butter

This is my second time making peanut butter, as it is so easy, and it tastes delicious. It tastes much better than what I buy in the store, as at least I know what is in them. The food products in the stores have so many chemicals in them, that I can't pronounce most of them. If I can't pronounce them, I certainly don't want yo put them in my body. There are many ways to use peanut butter, and I mostly put it on bread, as well as celery sticks too. I enjoy making my own food products, and I will continue to, as long as I can.

I don't usually buy anything that has more than 5 ingredients listed! I don't like cooking but I cook a lot because, like you, I want to avoid stuff that is put in our food.

I hear you on that one. There are lots of ingredients in the foods we buy, and most of the time, I can't pronoounce half of them let alone know what kind of chemicals they used. They are hamful, so I am starting to make my own, as I know what I have put in it and I can pronounce them as well.

It is so risky then to buy ready-made food or drink. Most food is canned and that may have negative side effect.

@yanzalong You are so right. At least when I make anything at home, I know exactly, what is in it. I won't put anything in it, that I know I shouldn't/

I'm not good at making home products as I've never learned. That's great you made your own peanut butter and i'm sure it taste just the same or better. I don't eat peanut butter very often but sometimes I enjoy a peanut butter and fluff sandwich.

@rosekiss We always get peter pan peanut butter but I don't eat it every day. I enjoy peanut butter here and there but not as much as i did when I was a kid.

I have always liked peanut butter, from a child on up. I would eat a lot of peter pan then, but that is no good, as what they put in it, shoouldn't be put in our bodies. I also ate a lot of jif, and there again, that shouldn't be eaten either. I finally got Skppy, and it is much better than the others. Now that I am making my own, I won't be buying peanjut butter ever again.

I have heard that some people are and that is a shame too It is so healthy, especially when it is homemade. I am not allergic, and I do it it in moderation, as we should never go overboard even on good things.

@petatonicsca Peanuts is an American thing. Many Europeans are allergic to peanuts. I always check the labels before buying products, I can be very sick if I eat even a small amount of peanuts.

If you have a good food processor or blender, then you can make it yourself. I bought my peanuts in bulk so they will last longer and what I boutght will make lots of peanut butter. That is okay though, a it is really good and good for me, as I know what is it in it.

Did you roast the peanut first before blending/processing? I quite like peanut butter, but never thought of making it so have no clue of the process.

No id didn't, as I bought them roasted and lightly salted. It does taste good either way though, as it ony tkes a few ingredients to have it made. I ave a tendency to put my finger in the jar and eat it that way. It is just so good, that I can't stop eating it. At least it won't ham me, so I am not to concerned, although, moderation is really better.

@YrNemo I do the same thing as well. they are just so hard to resist eating, although, to much isn't good, as evferything should be eaten in moderation. I will eat my peanut better by the spoonfuls, and I have to stop that too.

@rosekiss Good to know that. Since we don't add any chemical stuffs to store it longer, so I wonder whether it can store for a long time. I think two weeks will be good enough

I eat it alot so I don't have to worry about it going bad, and actually, it doesn't go rancid like other things will. I had my other peanut butter for over two weeks, and it was still good. I just finished it up yesterday, and made me some more. It is easy to make that a child can do it. Just get a good food processor or blender and start making. I happen to have both as I use both for different things. They certainly do come in handy as I use them everyday.

It takes two cups of peanutus and I use the roasted, salted ones, and I buy them in bulk.1/2 teaqspoon of sea salt, 1-2 tablespoons peanut oil or any other oil. I used cocout oil when I didn't have the peanut oil, and 1-2 tablespoons of honey. Blend salt and peanuts until a fine powder, and then add the oil and the noney. Blend until creamy or desired consistency. It is very easy to make and tkes no time at all.

It really is. I have a social media friend, that makes her own toothpaste, deoderant, soaps and esssential oils. I think that is great, a I want to learn to do that too. I have been having lots of fun making my own foods, as they are so good and healthy for me too. Everything I make doesn't take many ingredients, and are easy to make, that anyone can make them if they have a good food procesor or blender to make them.

It is, and very easy to make, and it really comes out creamy. I like to add honey to it so it sweetens it a bit, although it really isn’t necessary. It is more trial and error than anything.

That is really cool you make your own peanut butter. What ingredients do you use? I also love peanut butter with celery and also with carrots.
