Ladies wearing Pants to Church

What Christian denomination do you belong to? Catholics don't seem to mind if their Pope or priests wears a "dress" so what's the fuss if women wear pants?

The church I attend only believes in women wearing a Dress or a skirt all the time once they are a member. They even offer and teach this in Bible studies, etc. I know I would feel uncomfortable attending a church where there were women on the platform in anything other than a Dress or a skirt. The only time a woman should be allowed is when they are a first time guest or still visiting to see if this is the church they want to attend.

I'm definitely not comfortable with what your church instructs. I believe any woman or man can dress comfortable to church. God looks at the heart.

@Augusta123 whoever decided that has very little understanding of the New Testament. I presume the pants women might like to wear are womens' pants and not mens'! The kingdom of heaven has got nothing to do with clothes.

Sometimes I also don`t realize these rules.

I don't see the connection of being a good follower to God by not wearing pants. We all know that it takes way more than a pants to be good. What matter is you have a good heart.

I don't suppose God cares what you wear. He's probably just happy that people still worship him! I could never belong to a group which dictates what I should wear in my own home!

Somewhere in the Bible it says " Render your hearts and not your garments".

I was raised Independent Baptist and they taught that it was a sin for women to wear pants. The verse they used to justify this belief is Deuteronomy 22:5 which reads, "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God." What this denomination fails to realize is that at the time this verse was written, men wore dresses. No where in Scripture does it say "thou shalt not wear pants". As a matter of fact, I Samuel 16:7 states, " But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." I don't think God really cares if we wear pants or not. I say they should just be happy people are coming to church wearing clothes. I believe "Christians" do more to hurt the faith than the ungodly. They do this by nitpicking and taking Scripture out of context.

Well if wearing pants to church is a sin well that means every woman in my church is a sinner because we all wear pants there we do not see a problem with it this is ignorance to me My Minister do not mind as long as we are clean and clothed and in the House of God that is all that matters.
