Go fly a kite! This guy does, every day!

Most of us eat every day, use phones every day, brush out teeth, mundane things like that. A local man named Rodney flies kites every day. Since January 17, 2015, nearly a thousand days, Rodney has flown a kite, or I should say kiteS. This retired postal worker flies 50 or more kites on one string. His aim is to make the record in the Guinness World Record Book by January 16, when he will hit 3 years of daily kite flying. There is not one for consecutive days of kite flying. I can't imagine how he does that on rainy or icy days, but he documents his efforts with videos. He says he uses plastic kites in bad weather. This is a strange effort I think and one I would never try. When is the last time you flew a kite? Ever fly multiple kites?

Wow, that's neat. I haven't flown a kite in a while, a few years probably with my kids but only one at a time.

One at a time was plenty for me. There are big kite flying competitions on the Oregon coast.

I am sure that a lot of ability is needed to fly 50 or more kites. I only flew one at a time and it's many years since I did the last time.

@JamesHxstatic I believe they can be pretty difficult to control, I would fly with them, I am sure.

Yes, it would be hard. He seems to string them together.

I've flown kites before, but someone else had to get it up in the air, usually my Dad. Three years, to get my name written in a big book, that nobody reads? No Way!

@JamesHxstatic I wonder how that fella fits other things in, obligations at work, his wife's Birthday, Christmas morning?

There were kites at my friend's bonfire party last weekend - but I didn't fly one. That is awesome - not skipping a day. I hope he keeps it up

It takes a lot to get into the Guinness Book of Records. I was a teenager when I last flew a kite.

That is neat as I don't know anyone that would do that. I haven't flown a kite since i was a kid.

He picked a good world record niche - it's all his own! Oh gosh, I was never good at getting kites to go way up high - and that's just only one kite that I could barely manage.

That's so cool. I would do it in bad weather though. When I was younger, I made one for a school project. I once f flew a kite, but I haven't since.

When I started to read this I thought he wanted to get in Guiness. I can't remember. It was always just one.
