Going to work when you’re sick

I'm sorry to hear this and hope that you get feeling better soon..and I have worked before being sick because they would not let me go home.

I neverwent to work when I was ill when I worked. Many of those ailments are contagious so it was not only because I felt unwell, but because I did not want the others to get my disease.

They expect us to go in sick. Not a good practice when you are working with elderly people and people who have health problems.

I don't have a regular job at the moment so I only work when I feel like it or it's convenient.

I am retired now and so I don't have to go anywhere if I am not well. However, I used to work as a salesman and so had to go in every day no matter how I felt.

So many people here have posted about being sick already, when most places havent even really hit fall weather yet.. gonna be one heck of a fall / winter around here lol.

Mostly, yes. It is really my own conscience making me go. I am saving my sick leave time to take care of hubby after surgery.

If I am unwell, I won't go to office at any cost, until and unless heavens are going to fall.

I have gone to work when sick and when not. People where I sell come and cough and sneeze and I am prone to catch things so wish they would stay home and get better. You had no choice. I worked at a place and I really did not have much help with my boss was on vacation and I sort of took on his role and ended up getting sick. I had bronchitis and they called me at home to come in because they did not know what to do. They did not help me and did not get it that I was sick and could not go in.

I do hope you feel better soon. Yes I always go to work when I am sick unless I am throwing up and then I will stay home. Everybody at the office has a cold now just because we all come to work sick and pass it around to each other.

sorry to hear that you had a cold, do take medications and rest well. Nope I don't go to anywhere when I am sick. rest at home otherwise will turn worst problem

I unfortunately have had to go to work with a cold. Most people here don't think a cold should stop you from going to work. It would have to be a pretty bad bout for one not to.

Sometimes, especially when the situation warrants like yours

It is very common for me to go to work when I am sick I just want to be responsible. If I am not sick to stay in the hospital, I will still go to work

Yes I did before. It was hard because I apply leave and the boss did not approve it.

I do hope that you feel better soon. Unless I had a fever with the cold, I used to go into work.

It happened many times that I worked even if I was sick, it's a real pain. Take care.

it indeed is hard to deal with the day if you catch the cold.

I work with children with emotional regulatory issues... If I don't go in, there's too much pressure on my coworkers and on the students. Unless I'm dizzy, I get my butt to work!
