I know there are a lot of you from the Philippines on here. If I were ever to visit the Philippines, where would you suggest visiting?
I like: beautiful scenery, traditional culture, interesting foods, music, arts and drama
I don't much like: large cities, fashion, pop culture
And... go! Be my tour guide!

I would go with Palawan island cause it still has a lot of untouched frontiers, the tubataha reef and underground river are natural sites to see there and a lot more. Palawan has been awarded one of the best islands in the world, it has a rich cultural heritage as well as diverse and exotic flora and fauna.

@AkoPinay that was a long time ago and we won't let terrorists spoil the fun or control our lives, it could happen anywhere, they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
So does it mean we will not go to Rizal park because there was a hostage drama? or to Bali or Boston because of bombings or to New York because of 9-11? Etc...etc... Yes let's not go to Resorts World

Palawan is beautiful but... I can't forget the kidnappings

You better have a good communication with these people you were choosing before you start going to the country. Stay away from scammers and thieves be alert. The North, then part of Visayas, Palawan, and Mindanao had the best thing.

You may want to book a tour to the Banaue Rice Terraces. There you'll see the centuries old rice terraces and the indigenous people perform some cultural dance and music.

Nice. I love seeing rice terraces-- I might even see some on the way to the airport in Japan. It would be interesting to see how they are similar and different in the Philippines.

If you are not a beach bum and prefer the mountains, Baguio City is a good place
Baguio - the city of Pines has been dubbed as the Summer Capital of the Philippines. Dubbed as the summer capital of the Philippines due to the fact that it is situated at 1,540 meters above sea level and has the coolest temperature in the country. Amili

Our place is the one you are talking to. Why? Because Vigan City is UNESCO World Heritage site and we have another UNESCO WHS which is the Santa Maria church. Traditions? Well we are celebrating Kannawidan Festival every February which is the festival of our cultures, arts and traditions. And foods, we have the unique taste of bagnet, the empanada, okoy, sinanglaw and other rice delicacies you can only have in Ilocos.

Intramuros is you are staying in the city for tradition and culture.
Depending on your other interest, you can pick between trekking to see sunrises on mountain tops or lounging in the beach to view sunsets. Palawan, Baguio, Batanes, and Ilocos Sur, places that were already mentioned are all good tourists destinations but my picks would be Zambales and Siquijor.

I am originally from Luzon where the capital city of the Philippines is located. But I found a better life here in the Visayas, specifically the province of Cebu. I find Cebu a great place to live. We have so many places to roan around, cities that are not that populated, beaches, mountains, and a lot more.
