A couple hours ago I laid down for a nap hoping the power would be back on but Tony woke me moving around in the quite house.
Its cold in here and the power company called said I have power, no I don`t. So I am not sure if they ever got to us or said "to hell with them."
The cat would not stay inside, so I had to choice but to let him out.
You can bet that Monday morning, maybe sooner depends on when I can get to home depot, I will buy and install a propane gas heater, I will not be this cold ever again because of a power outage.
Next house I get will have a working fireplace, I have been thinking about moving and that now is a requirement.
I have 1 hour of battery left and then its not going to be fun sitting with the candles.
Since the roads are okay I sent Tony out for a hot meal, he will probably buy a pizza.
How has your day been? I sure hope better than mine.

I hate having power outage. I can't stand it. I'm so sorry your day hasn't been that doing well.
It's Saturday here and as usual I will be working whole afternoon and the whole day tomorrow too. But I will try to be here in mylot today because I had been away for quite some time.

@rebelann I am hoping for the temps to get back to the normal, around 50-55 each day

That's horrible. You shouldn't be that cold at home.

I'm so sorry you are cold! Do you know the temp there? My mom has a wood stove and I told hubby we need one for emergencies. His answer is we will go to my moms! lol This old place doesn't heat well on wood, we have tried a few times. Hope they get your electric on soon!

That would be good for the fridge but gas or wood for heat is now a must as a back up.

Bless your heart, that's bad. Will you be able to stay warm enough with the power out? Praying for you and Tony.
Is there a shelter with power you could go to?

I'm so sorry you are without heat and power! I have been in your shoes once. Thankfully it was only for 8 hours, but even with 2 comforters on me I could not get warm. I finally had to just go sit in a local fast food place for about an hour and just restaurant hope from there so I wouldn't get caught for loitering. Some people were understanding but others were asking people to leave if they weren't buying anything. It was a snowy day here as well. I hope your power comes back on soon so you can finally be warm!

I have heard mixed revues of putting tea light candles under terracotta pots to heat like space heaters. I do not know if you have any. I think this might be something I would at least try.

I had enough candles to warm us while awake but I do not leave them burning while I sleep, ever.

Yes, I am desperate for a fireplace too. This is one of the only places I have lived in that doesn't have one. If I can't sell my house this Spring I will get an electric one. I have the fake woodburner which is good and atmospheric, but it is in the other room.

Not in Alabama when it snows, everything closes. The only place open was the Chinese place.

@andriaperry That would be so troublesome. I can't imagine how people deal with no power during the winter season.

@andriaperry It's snowing now, not a day to take the road, there are plenty of idiots who think that driving on the snow with normal tires is a safe thing to do.
