Have you ever plogged?

This is apparently the latest craze to emerge from Sweden. We all know what jogging is, and we all know how important it is to rid our streets, beaches and other places of plastic bottles and other rubbish, so why not combine the two? The idea is that you go for a jog - preferably as a group of people - and take a container with you into which you can place any plastic waste that you come across. Not only will you help to clean the environment of unsightly and dangerous waste, but the action of squatting down to reach a plastic bottle and then getting up to resume your jog is good for your joints! I haven't done this myself - I much prefer to walk than jog - but plogging sounds like a great idea.

My first time to hear the word plogged! Sounds like a good idea. You've had some sort of exercise and at the same time done something to help the environment!

Oh that's a good thing , it's not possible to start here in India where people are uneducated and may find plastic waste on every step.

Unfortunately the world is sinking under waste plastic, and the situation in the oceans is even worse. They say that most of the plastic in the oceans gets there by being carried down ten rivers, two of which are the Indus and the Ganges.

@indexer Ganges is known to be the holy river in India but people don't leave it and makes it so dirty . All material left after pooja ( worship) is thrown in it .

This is a good idea. Killing two birds with a single stone. I wish people could buy the idea here where I live. You get to see so much plastic rubbish and nylon all over the place.

I take a garbage bag when I go for a walk. So does my walking group. I take a bag when I go for a bike ride too. But then I only stop if I see a beverage bottle that I can return for a refund. I will pick up any garbage at the same time. I live in the country and there isn't much garbage so my road is easily kept clean.

It's a good idea, even if I also do not like to jog, but I see no reason not to do the same while walking.

Haha I would have thought it had something to do with blogging. How fun would it be to start a plogging group
