The flu made it's arrival

For a couple of days, my husband was sick, thought it was just a really bad cold, but with so much flu around, I took him to an Urgent Care center yesterday.
Sometimes a cold turns into to Bronchitis with him and can go into Pneumonia.
I was so shocked when the doctor told him he has the flu!
My husband waited for almost four hours to be seen because the place was packed with sick people, all wearing face masks. I waited in the car and read a book.
The doctor prescribed Tamiflu for both of us. The first drug store we went to was out of it, so he sent us to another pharmacy who thankfully had the medicine.
I've had a bad headache since last night. Sure hope I'm not getting the flu.
The odd thing is, the Tamiflu has some side effects (headache, nausea, vomiting) that are also symptoms of the flu itself.
So I hope my headache is from the medicine and not the flu virus.
This is the worst flu season since I'm not sure how long ago. And it's deadly.
I know many of you don't get the flu shots (we and all our family have had them), but even if you get the flu, the immunization might help lessen the severity and possibly save your life.
Take care of yourselves and please say a prayer for my husband. Thank you so much, friends.

@1creekgirl You should check again with the pharmacist re: Tamiflu with glucoma

@1creekgirl Yes, my doctor warned me about this medication. I have narrow angled glaucoma and I also had laser surgery.

We both have Glaucoma, but I didn't read anything in the insert info about that. Did your doctor tell you that?

I hope you aren't getting the flu and that your husband recovers quickly. Yes, the flu is horrible this year and I'm reluctant to go to the doctor for a well visit to have my prescriptions refilled.

Thanks, I feel fine so far. I think you're wise to stay out of the doctor's office if at all possible for a while.

My husband is a little better today. I'm taking the Tamiflu also to hopefully prevent the flu.

I heard this strain was not included in the shot, its new. I always take the flu shot since the flu almost killed me back about 20 years ago. Like this strain it was a new one. I believe in prevention.

We always get a flu shot and I'm praying that there is a little protection from that plus the Tamiflu that will help.
