Identical triplets? No, thank goodness

No, you’re not seeing treble and Vince isn’t one of identical triplets.
Let me explain: My husband enjoys his photography and over the years has accumulated quite a few photographic bits and pieces which he says are essential if he wants to be a good photographer. That’s his story and he is sticking to it.
He also belongs to a number of online photographic sites and the latest challenge was to take a ‘delayed exposure’ shot for which he needed my help – as is often the case.
So we had three bar stools set up next to each other. Two studio lights were both connected to a power board which I held. The exposure was set for 15 seconds. I would press the button on the camera, cut to 3 slowly, then switch off the lights. Vince would switch stools – bar stools that is – say ‘okay’ and I switch the lights on again .This would activate the camera to take another photo, I’d count to 3, switch off the lights and Vince would go to the third stool and the process would be repeated.
In between shots he’d switch hats or remove it all together. It took a while to get it all coordinated properly and being a photographer, he isn’t happy with it yet so we’ll do it all again tonight (sigh). But at least we know it can be done.
The first time we used chairs but the backs of the chairs appeared across his chest. But there is always a solution to these problems and guess who suggested using the bar stools? Yes, me.

The photo came out pretty well, considering Vince is still trying to get it "just right." And it's nice that the two of you can engage in this hobby together!

@JudyEv It may be a bit reluctant and grumbly, but at least the engagement happens! I think it's cute that you and Vince still do so many wonderful things together!

@moffittjc I sometimes start off a bit slowly but then I often get really enthused. So now I've come up with this idea that with a bit of effort we can have him playing a different instrument on each stool - trombone, guitar and recorder for instance. The double bass would probably be asking a bit much! However he's not very interested at all in my new, improved idea.
Actually it's part of my underhanded plan to make him wish he'd never asked for help!

It's wonderful how you did this! I'm sure he looks better without backs of a chair, across his chest

Thanks. We were pretty pleased with it. It only took about 15 photos to get it to this.

@allknowing You know these fancy cameras. They have minds of their own. They are much too smart for their own good sometimes.

That's excellent!
The world of photography really has taken off since it went digital. Least I am assuming it's a digital camera you have used. I know you could create ghost images on the old films, by double or triple exposure, but I'm no expert.

Certainly digital. They used to say the camera didn't lie but that was well before everything went digital.

Now I want him to have a different musical instrument with each shot but he doesn't want to. It would look good with a double bass, trombone and recorder wouldn't it? At the moment he just chucks the first hat away. He wouldn't want to do that with a double bass so perhaps it's not such a good idea.

I don't get too serious about it either. Sometimes when I ask him to take a particular photo it takes so long I wish I'd just taken it myself as best I could.
