I saw an article the other day and today there is another one on Yahoo that says, Lisa Marie Presley's 100 million dollar fortune is all gone! The daughter of the late great Elvis Presley said in these articles a combination of things has led to her loss of her fortune.
She is in the midst of a nasty divorce from her 4th husband. He is demanding a portion of her money for the raising of their two kids. She has also abused drugs like cocaine and has been in rehab. Also, the other article I saw the other day said where she had one of those financial people helping her with her estate that misused her money.
The article today also said she was 16 million dollars in debt!
It is crazy to think about how some rich people can misuse their money and end up with nothing.
Not only has she blown her fortune, but she's locked in a bitter divorce with her fourth husband, which has led to the revelation of her extensive substance abuse issues.

The author's rights of Elvis Presley were 55 million dollars in 2012 and only 35 million in 2017. Life becomes hard when you have to reduce lifestyle. However, with 8 million dollars of author's rights falling in my wallet every quarter, I think I would be able to survive.

@CoralLevang We have actually a family battle in France about Johnny Haliday author's rights. He wrote his will in USA and removed two children from his inheritance, which is illegal here. It is "only" 10/12 million/year of author's rights.

@CoralLevang I do not like the idea of disinheriting your children or your parents. For other members of a family it does not shock me.

Wow. That is amazing, but it does make sense how it could happen

She has lived way too far beyond her means.

I guess that is a good lesson for people who have money. Do the opposite of what she did.

Maybe it's because the more money you have the greater the expenses you would incur. It's a case of spending more than what the money that you have ( in her case inheritance)earns. The well would gradually dry up, very simple but mind boggling especially with huge amounts of money.

If I had that much money, I would make sure to live below my means. I would not let it go out of control.

The Lord give and the Lord take. Seems like she snorted it away.

@LeaPea2417 It is not only a famous persons' problem, I know a lot of adults that don't know how to manage their money and end up on debt.

@LeaPea2417 Yes I am wondering how much money she has at all..surely she is not completely broke or she would be homeless.

I agree. I guess they buy way too expensive houses and cars etc. If I had that amount of money, I would not go so full out and buy the most expensive of things.

I agree, she should have been smarter with her inheritance. Now, what does she leave her kids? This hurts her children.

Yes, I wonder what her Mom thinks & yes, I do hope she gets the help she needs to fight her addictions.
