Why Do You Hesitate?

Jump right in! No one is stopping you. Nowhere in the guideline it says that you are not allowed to jump in the middle of any conversation and join the said conversation.
Then why do you hesitate? Or do you feel intimidated by the camaraderie of certain myLot members with each other?
Please don't be! There is no need to feel left out.
When I joined the site, I knew no one. I didn't even know how the site worked but I was fascinated with the conversations going around me. The freedom with which people stated their point and the respect with which the said points were received even if they were opposing views.
That atmosphere lured me in and I was soon putting my cents in wherever I felt I could add something. I was interacting with strangers who quiet obviously knew each other well and even appear to be good friends.
That did not stop me and neither any of them ever objected me or saw me as "intruding". I was welcomed warmly and soon they were my friends as well. I was also a part of the "inner circle" (as some perceive it).
Believe me, it's better than sitting at the sidelines and observing others having fun. Or better yet than deluding yourself into believing that you are being ignored or left out. How can you be ignored when you didn't join in the first place?
Just take a chance, people. You never know what or who you end up bonding with. I certainly do not regret it. I am glad with what I gained here.

@vandana7 Wow, you really know me that well.
I will try to find time to pop in here now and then. Can't be letting @Daljinder jumping all over the place alone.

I agree with you, people who think they are being intruded upon when somebody joins their conversation are missing a lot, so does one who hesitates to join in.

@mydanods Interaction = myLot. Running after money won't help. If we put money on back burner and just interact, cents add up quickly.

@Daljinder I have noticed that some people are doing defaming posts, but they are quickly deleted now.

@LadyDuck Yes! That is right. Also keeping the interaction positive and encouraging. I notice people are still doing "defaming" posts even though admin has advised against it multiple times.

I jump into many conversations, but often times nobody responds back. It gets discouraging after a while.

For years I felt scared to jump into the scene and step on toes. Now I don't care. I have spent enough time worrying, when 9 years ago I could have been forging my own path through life instead of spinning my wheels. At least I absorbed a ton of knowledge in those years, so I could use it later. Lots and lots of research all the time for years. Now I can put it to use and get it out to the world.
The time for hesitation is past... but I still have to make smart choices.

@vandana7 It's like what my one writer friend says: "An unpublished story doesn't make any money." You have to actually finish it and get it out there, and then you can always perfect it later, if you feel like it needs it.
I have over 300 partially written stories that need to just be finished and put out there. Some of them are definitely not worth the time I have put into them.

@JudyEv I like that too. It is so amazing that we are chatting with each other sitting in different parts of the world and having fun. It doesn't feel like we are too far apart though.

I'll jump into any conversation as long as I understand and have some knowledge of that it's about. I don't put random comments on posts I know nothing about though.

@Daljinder I don't think I've ever held back on here. I find it easier to join in on conversations here than I would if I was sitting with people face to face. And like you said, never know what people you can bond with. I'm glad someone I know on here jumped in to talk to me. Otherwise I probably never would have met her!

@VivaLaDani13 We actually very quickly jumped from acquaintance to friendship. Maybe because we called each other's bullsh*t and went straight to the point. After we both put our cards on the table, there was no looking back

Hi! I think some people are just shy. I was shy at first so I tested the water. And it was cool because people were responding to my discussion. It is great. Hoping to know more myLotters here.
