March came in like a lion and I am hoping it goes out like a lamb. We had a snow storm this weekend dumping tons of wet snow all over. The temperature has been mild but has now started to get colder but we should get warmer weather later in the week. The problem with warmer weather in winter is that it is the ideal condition for snow and ice storms. In the meantime, everything in the yard is covered with and buckling under the weight of the snow. How is the weather in your neck of the woods? What is the meaning of “In Like A Lion, Out Like a Lamb” It is based on the idea that March is a changeable month that can start out stormy and end calm or visa versa. https://www.farmersalmanac.com/the-truth-behind-in-like-a-lion-out-like-a-lamb-2867

I hadn't thought about the weight of snow weighing things down but of course, it would get very heavy.

@JudyEv It can get quite heavy especially when it is the wet kind like we had

@petatonicsca You often see that in comic films. A person slams the door and the snow falls off the porch roof.

When it falls off the roof onto your head, it's pretty heavy too. Brr!

We're getting a little snow right now. We supposed to get more snow over the next few days. Thankfully not too much, but still not exactly what I was hoping. Definitely looking forward to the snow melting.

Boy yes it did here as well and finally it is warming up into the 50's we still have snow about 6 inches left but it is melting. I sure hope it does go out like a lamb. Winter has been over long and cold.

March is a lion here in the northeast U.S. too. We have had cold and windy temps and 2 Nor'easters.

March came in like a lamb in my country. But the weather forecast says the climate might change overnight.

@Freelanzer The weather is at its extremes. It is very cold in winter and very hot in summer.

We also had a snow storm in Minnesota. I was visiting my sister and ended up staying an extra night. The roads were almost impassable but by yesterday when I headed home they were mostly wet, not slippery.

Seems like you had similar weather to what we had here. We usually get similar weather because we are fairly close even though I find Minnesota weather much milder than ours.

Oh wow! It seems as though there are a lot of birthdays in March. There should be gladness about the month of March and other months. Enjoy the month and what's ahead.

I always assumed it was in reference to Winter's end and the beginning of Spring. Our early March has been fairly "normal," with some light rain and cool but not cold temperatures.

It is quite a contrast in temperatures from where you are to where I am. We can get cold weather or snow right into May and even in June at times.

I was thinking about "April showers bring May flowers." In Tokyo it's more like "March showers bring March and April flowers." We already have some trees blooming so the flowers on the ground should follow soon.

Yes and that is my bird feeder covered in snow. Poor birds have to go without food until it thaws.
