Happy to be a woman -- And men are really appreciated.

Today - International Women's Day, I thought of some of the things that make me happy to be a woman - and a few of the things that I appreciate about men.
Here are three things (out of many) that I like about being a woman -(1) I can bring forth a new life into the world.
(2) I can wear makeup whenever I want to.
(3) I can cry whenever I want to.
About men - they play a very important role in the continuation of life - and life on a whole. Even though I am all for equality, there are some jobs men do that I could not and would not want to do. For example - any job that needs a lot of muscle , is dangerous or entails getting dirty.
What makes you happy to be a woman - or happy to be a man?. There must be many more reasons along with the three I mentioned.

I am happy to be a man in part because I think it is simpler than being a woman. But the roles that men play are changing and old stereotypes are useless in the 21st Century, I think. I am very happy for the presence of women in the world and in my life.

I agree that equality is all very well but some jobs really are suited better suited to men although SOME women could manage them. A young friend trained as a butcher and was good at it but hurt her back because she was expected to empty heavy drums from time to time.

I am very happy, being a woman. I'd never want to fill the shoes of a man! Men usually jump to open doors for me, which I'm very flattered by. If another man is coming through the door, they let them open it for themselves! LOL I love being a mother and a grandma:)

@Kandae11 As a small child, I said that I'd rather be a boy. When I reached 10-12 years old, I was very happy to be a girl!

@kobesbuddy As a child I wanted to be a firefighter - that changed at age 12.

@Kandae11 I'm a well-educated woman who made a lot of dumb mistakes in her life. My Dad wanted nothing but boys and unfortunately he had mostly girls but treated us as boys. So yup, 'gender confusion' would be a good description of me.

@nanette64 I made some mistakes I wish I hadn't too, but I try not to worry about it now.

I am happy to be who I am, which happens to be a woman. Plenty of things I have learned being me. Yes, I do like the makeup and dressing nice and smelling good. I do not like to cry, and seldom do.

Men have that attitude of protecting women and I like that and when it comes to me I like being in charge of the household.

hope international women's day went well, a hugely important year for it with so many abuse issues coming to light, and such a sexist slob US president at present. In many ways being male to me means an absence of so much that women have to endure, periods, pregnancy, morning sickness, birth, etc - we get off so lightly by comparison

I am happy to be a woman because I always wanted to be a mother, that is what is most important to me.

I have to agree with you totally on the bringing new life into our world point.
I like a strong man, one that can lift things easily. I guess that is the old fashioned chivalry that I like.
And I like naturally being soft, and being able to always be soft and add that to the world that we live in.
